But Kim, in Canada you are not immune from the all-powerful "statist media." They are so incredibly effective that you really want to trade in your current truck for a 1975 Pontiac Acadian (aka the Canadian Chevette). With the "rally package," you could probably tow your 28' Classic. You just don't realize it yet... probably the cold slowing the synapses. You see, Kim, we Americans were too stupid...

I also like the Tundra. Fine vehicle. Just not the one for towing the 25' Safari. I agree, the max tow values are misleading. Take a look under the Tundra, then look under the Silverado. BIG difference in beefiness. Quality, get the tundra, but towing capacity, get the Chevy. And I encourage all to run the numbers on the referenced spreadsheets. Convinced me. Towing Vehicles: smiting by the numbers.

If this happens to you, I'd recommend first turning off the ignition, and then get on the brakes. If turning off the ignition fails, shift to neutral and then get on the brakes. If that fails shift to park or reverse to destroy the transmission, then get on the brakes. If that fails say your prayers and try not to take anyone else out with you. If you have time to dial 911, you are not taking...

Isn't every Lexus a dressed up Toyota for many more dollars? Is the LX-470 a 4Runner or a Land Cruiser or a Sequoia? It's probably a Land Cruiser to have the 4.7 V8 and weigh around 5,500 lbs. Wouldn't a Land Cruiser cost less for the same thing? Maybe not since I can't believe what Toyota gets for Land Cruisers. The 4.7 L. engine back in '02 was around 235-240 HP. depending on exhaust ...

Ford says--- Build Ford Tough!!! What they don't say is that means it's a piece of cr@# that will fall apart as soon as the useless warrantee runs out. That's what "Ford Tough" really means.

I saw a guy towing a 30' two weeks ago with a mid 70's cutlass and said he had no problems, however I would not do it. Since your AS will outweigh most cars I would not do it. I am sure some will say any large car or van will do but I prefer my f250. You may look for a ford f series with a crew cab as that will seat 5, i know here in florida dealers still have 08's that are really discounted. ...

First off, welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.
We have a 2005 Safari 25FB, named Lucy. Ready to camp, Lucy tips the scales at 7400#. In the past three years, we have towed Lucy over 50,000 miles, and have spent over 500 nights in her. We tow Lucy with two Suburban 2500's (3/4 ton). These tow vehicles do very well in all circumstances.
