These flexes should be forced to move to the backseat like everyone else in reverse seniority order. The union should not be making deals like this to help the company excess guys. The company would then be forced to make a decision; slowdown 757 training and make more unneeded flight engineers or do the sensible thing and stop this madness have a vacancy bid and start making more 757 pilots and stop the multitude of worthless training cycles...

UPS Furlough

Very sorry to hear this. They keep holding the "F" word over our heads at Purple also (thus the illegal use of paragraph 4.a.2.b of our contract that "permits" management to pay us less than minimum guarantee). If there is ANY good news it's that UPS is a GREAT COMPANY that will one day need more pilots and the furloughed folks will have a good job to go back to (I'm not so sure that's the...

Ok, now that I have heard this from three independent sources, thought I would throw it out there and chum the rumor waters.
1. We bought more 777's and/or are accelerating deliveries THIS YEAR.
2. Relatively large bid forthcoming for 777 and 757....Feb/Mar timeframe.
Any others hearing this?

Question: Anyone know if the union has posed the question about guys in FDA bids that are still in a reserve unit back in the states and what happens if they have to deploy for a couple months or more. Since you would likely move your family to HKG will you still at least get the housing allowance. If this question has not been posed it should be and an agreement should be made.
Thanks

Panda Express is a registered trademark of the Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. I wonder if the FDX CEO/company has the proper permission to use the name regarding the airlift of pandas. Panda could sue for use of their intellectual material.

Just turned down another draft for MEM 300 F/O seat, and the SAME chick picked it up again To make matters worse, she is the most senior Airbus F/O on the property. If she needs the money that bad, why doesn't she just upgrade? She's more senior than half the Captains.
Trips: 4879/ 5 Jan and 4154/ 2 Feb MEM A300 FO

What did you think of this? Travolta flies 12,000 pounds of supplies to Haiti in his 707? What a hero.... That is barely 2 positions on any real cargo plane. I'll bet he only loaded the belly positions and didn't put anything topside. Wouldn't want to scuff up the leather seats with relief supplies. What a waste.

Apparently there are some front seaters that were getting ready to retire at 65. Checking out the DC8 FE seniority list, they are now looking to downbid and displace to Second Officer rather than retire.............
