What do you suppose causes a burner to degrade in reading capability? My Sony DRU820 use to be a favored reader as well. But I stored it a while back, and recently went to use it, and its having trouble reading a measly C -D! I suppose it could benefit from a laser cleaning. But is that the only factor for that kind of degradation?

as omegaman says ....Well...my LH20A1H is gonna remain "the reigning champion." This is an IDE interface. If you can find this older one you'll get a good reader. I'm using the SATA version as my reader and burning with Optiarc 7240S But will not hesitate to burn with the LH 20A1S. Both above can book type with correct firmware .

Nero support is mmmm very unsatisfactory to say the least. You're better off checking out this site before emailing them...very sad indeed:( Personally, if i had a problem, which is rare, I'd just Google it:)

It writes CD-RW ok? Try ImgBurn . Insert a CD-R and select 'Test Mode' (lower left)and if that works, try an actual burn. If it fails, post the log ('Help' > 'ImgBurn Logs..')

I burned a few episodes of a TV show on Memorex DVD-DL (Dual layer) and when i playback on my TV the video gets all choppy and at a certain point it totally stops...can anyone help solve my problem?

I used nero 8 to convert avi video file to a dvd file and have no problem when I convert phim hongkong. But when I convert phim han quoc hd dvdrip in avi format to a dvd, the movie keep pausing every ten minutes. The avi file work just fine when I play it. Do anyone know what is going on? I try using other program like winavi, roxie, and dvd convertor pro, but none of them would let me convert the movie. Can some please help me!!!!!!
