XBOX 360 plays H.264 encoded videos( http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/...ox_360_play.cfm ). Just use Yamb and mux the video and audio into an MP4 . If the video was encoded to a certain profile, no converting would be necessary. here's all the info, you might be able to skip to the muxing step with Yamb: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/...on_xbox_360.cfm

Hi jubatus, Are the drivers for your video card up to date? What are you using to play the files on your laptop? What codecs do you have installed? It could be one or all three are running older versions. I suggest that you update them one at a time and isolate the problem.

Try opening the source .mkv using AviDemux . Menu on left side, select XviD for the output. The output file has to be given a full name (including extension), e.g. newfile.avi

.h264 files
Published (2009-11-29 22:25:00)
I have some videos in MKV containers because they contain multiple audio and subtitle tracks. I want to demux the video and one of the audio tracks out and then assemble them into an avi to play on my Xbox 360 . I've demuxed these two tracks and the video is encoded using AVC codec with a file extension ".h264". I'm not able to playback this file or open it with VirtualDubMod . How can I make an avi file out of...

Hi Experts, I have a file (size > 3 GB ). With hjspldos ( Hjsplit .exe) I am able to split that file on Windows 2003 Server without any error. The same is not working on Windows 2008 Server. The error says " This version of C:\FTPTOOL\upload-download\Hjsplit.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit)...

for converting mkv's I use effectmatrix total video converter, it handles almost every mkv I throw at it. It also handles almost every FLV file, which is the main task I use it for. I've been using it for about 6 months on my XP computer and it is the main converter I use, for me it works reliably where other converters fail.

Hi scrapesky,
I've personally found that the best video converter out there is one called SUPERĀ©. It's a totally free piece of software that is very versatile and, yes it will convert . mkv to .vob.
The dropdown box in the above shows a complete list of file types it converts to.

Did you try to run it in compatibility mode maybe?
An alternative is to split the file using WinRar ...anyone should be able to put it back together.
I use HjSplit on Vista x64 with no problems.

No, but I have noticed that lately, especially on the newer updated versions. Just means I have to go and redo the title once done.

Drag the file onto Avi-Mux Gui
Highlight the file and 'Generate Data'
Right click on the audio track and either check/uncheck the default setting.
'Start' (save) as a new file.
