Soundbooth CS4 crashes on startup
Published (2009-11-25 15:47:00)
Holding down SHIFT on launch bypasses the preference files, loading the internal defaults.? If Soundbooth is then exited cleanly, the "new" preferences (whatever state they are in when the application is closed) are written to the Preference files.

scripting Soundbooth CS4
Published (2009-11-26 18:12:00)
Hi, I've played with Soundbooth over the weekend and I am amazed by the simple interface/ease of use, etc. There are some tiny quirks though, and I was hoping I could script my way out of them. I've opened up ExtendScript Toolkit and there is a Soundbooth Object, although no documantation. The object lists a handfull of functions ( none of the calls seemed to work ), one of the listed functions is called...

Published (2009-11-23 04:18:00)
Hi all, still learning, I have found the scores folder with many types of music, but what about the instruments that use to be in Audition. I cannot find the drums, bass guitar etc. Sure this was in CS2 Audition. I now have Soundbooth CS3. So where do I find the drum beats etc? Thank you josel

Creating soundtracks in sync...

We're looking for a solution that allows us to create audio tracks for use in Flash animations. We have been trying to use Adobe Audition without much success. We create the Flash animation, export the animation as a QuickTime movie, convert it to AVI (since Audition doesn't support MOV and Flash doesn't export to AVI), then import the AVI into Audition. In Audition, we can edit the audio, creating multi-track cues...

Did you try opening another file, or a different file format? I ran into the same problem, after being able to insert silence correctly for months.? Either the file I was using became corrupted, or it was saved as both video and audio. I saved the .mov file in another format (.aif) and was able to edit it properly. I deleted the original .mov file and resaved the .aif as a .mov . It has been working properly. A clue to the problematic .mov...

Timing Tracks
Published (2009-11-25 03:42:00)
Excellent.? Thanks for this.? Now, do you know how to make Soundbooth automatically find the waveform, as was the case with Audition?? It's helpful when editing sound.? I have it set to "snap to" beats but not sure that's the same thing.

I am having the same problem, notably when saving and re-opening multitrack asnd files that have a video track. I can create them, work with them, save them, but re-opening them later gets the generic "Open File Failure." I can't read the first part of the "Result" column because it's truncated, but it ends "or perhaps the file is of an unsupported version." I've tried every video format ...

Robert,
Did you have any beta versions of Soundbooth CS4 installed?
Can you try launching the application while holding down the shift key? (hold it until the splash screen is gone)
Let me know if this fixes the problem.

I've recently ( last weekend) discovered Soundbooth and it amazed me with its simplicity. This might sound like propaganda, but I actually got impressed. It seems build for your needs: - it does have multitrack support - it imports most audio/video formats(including .avi, .mov, .flv) - it integrates really well with flash ( there is this new asnd(adobe sound) format which seems to...

Hi Sigmundo, At work ( disturb media ) we've finished a karaoke flash project. I haven't used Soundbooth then, we had limited time, so I wrote a few handy commands for flash that took care of the job. Hopefully we will be able to document that, right an article and share the commands as a packed extension. I've learned Soundbooth over the weekend and FLVCuePoints was one of the ...
