I don't believe you need to "escape" the < or > or /, so search for (<url>)(.+)(</url) and replace with $2 and add your formatting.

PMS color
Published (2009-11-20 15:10:00)
A little clarification would help.   Are you looking for a Pantone solid (spot) rendition as process, or an actual Pantone swatch from the process library?   Do you already have a swatch defined and applied?   If the type is already colored with a PMS solid color, I would tend to advise using the Ink Manager to convert to process, rather than redefining the swatch. You may decide one day to run this using spot...

How do I create a pdf with crops...
Published (2009-11-24 09:40:00)
Ah yes,   But the point is that the printer should have a template set up and sitting your file in the template and centering it should in theory mask the unwanted pieces of the crop marks.   But it's clearly not the case here. Some printers, I've learned, just are old fashioned and need things a certain way. I disagree with them making you go the extra mile in supplying a pdf that suits their needs. It should be...

I don?t see any way how you could make different PDF files to open different sowtwares by just doublecliking... you have to somehow tell you computer where you want to open your PDF, double-cliking doesn?t contain that information..   I always keep Acrobat my default opening software for PDFs. If I sometimes want to use some other software, like Preview or Illustrator, I right-clik (or control-clik with single button mouse) and...

Thank you. My script is now working! You just choose a paragraph style from all the styles in the document, and it tells you what styles are based on it. Very primitive compared to yours!   Ariel   mylist = app.activeDocument.allParagraphStyles; toDisplay = MakeDropDown (mylist); myresults = "The following styles are based on " + toDisplay + ":"; myfinds = false; for (aa = 0; aa <mylist.length;...

Published (2009-11-24 15:17:00)
Is it possible to bring in footnotes from Word without linking to the word file?   No -- copying from Word to InDesign uses the regular interapplication clipboard, and is copied as plain unformatted text.   "Without linking to the Word file" ... well, it is a user preference (in the Preferences panel, no less) to link to text documents or not. I think you could defeat the automatic linking if you import the entire...

Defaults in Indesign are assigned when you change something while nothing is selected. So, to change the default for an open document, make sure no text is selected, and no text frame is selected, and change what you want. This will only change defaults in the active document. To change defaults for all new documents, do the same with no file open. You cannot change defaults for unopened files or several files at once.

You never know what this could be for if it is a business card. It could be the only thermograph printer in a 400 mile radius that prints foil embossed cards with tangerine smelling scratch-and-sniff inks. You play by there ballgame or you don't get the supersmelly business cards.

How are you determining the correct color for the blue? How have you definedthat in ID. Is your monitor properly calibrated and profiled? If the answer to that last one is no, or worse, I don't know what you are talking about, then you can't expect to match a printed color to what you see on screen except by sheer accident. Matching a web color is at best a crapshoot anyway. Web ...

Probably not -- it does , in the sense that your system will go unworkably sluggish after installing font number 5000 or something, and you may run out of disk space. I'm afraid to ask ... how many do you plan on installing? Literally thousands and thousands?

Is the default printer a local printer, rather than a network printer? I'm not sure if that affects Macs in the same way it does Windows, but it might. In fact, if you don't have another physical printer attached to the computer, the PDF virtual priinter is a good choice for the default. Do you have a font manager? Wouldn't this depend on the name of the images? For example? Well if they're already inserted automatically, I'm not sure how well this will work, but couldn't you list your images Alphabetically in the Links Panel, selecting all the images you want to change, use the flyout menu to choose to relink to a folder. Find the folder and update. Apologies if this is inaccurate or doesn't...

I don´t use that drag resize feature very often. Instead I activate single (or multiple) row and give a row height numerically to control or table panel. I don´t know if it helps with your problem but may be it´s worth of trying.

I'd say the help file is correct, and the person who typed up the practice question got it backwards. Can hardly blame them. Image dimensions and scaling percentage are two different things, but I believe the help excerpt accurately portrays the behavior.
