Enough with your worn out comments Snob. Sorry that I am boring you. Over the years, you would be surprised at the number of users, who swear that they have cleared all Overrides, only to come back and tell the forum that they found one, that they had missed. It happens all the time.   Since you have none - the issue is elsewhere.   Good luck,   Hunt

Jon - A final question.   Why encode at all?  I just use Adobe Dynamic Lick to send the finished project directly to Encore without any encoding.  Much faster, any subsequent required project changes immediately show up in Encore without having to re-encode, and I have always assumed the highest possible quality is attained.   Am I missing something?  This seems like the simplest way too....

In PR I am using .avi and .wav plus .psd and .aep   In EN preview the same thing is happening as on my Plasma Widescreen and the regular TV I have played the DVD on.       Should the .m2v be transcoded before I build the DVD ? It is the only thing that has not been transcoded.       Thanks, Scott   Date: Sun, 22 Nov 2009 18:26:25 -0700 From: forums@adobe.com To:...

The main reason I encode to h.264 is that is produces a better quality video compared to mpeg2 at the same bitrates. Though it does take much longer to encode, the image quality is superior.   Unfortunately Encore is not able to properly build a disc when motion menus are transcoded to h264 (error messages during the build process). Your only option for a successful build (when using motion menus) is to author in MPEG2 mode. All this...

I ripped it so just in case I didnt get it get it back.   If you don't trust your friends, get new friends.   Copying a commercial DVD is illegal.? If your 'friend' won't give you the DVD back, you will just have to go out and buy another, taking this as a lesson learned about who to choose as friends.

There's not really a step-by-step needed, IMHO.? Never, ever overwrite an asset that is used in an En project from outside of En.? If En is open, use the Edit Original, Edit Menu in Photoshop, and Replace Asset commands.? If En is closed, then open En and do the same.   -Jeff

Your m2v should show "do not transcode" if you did it correctly.   If the Encore settings are correct (SD wide), your asset is probably wrong.? I would use Gspot to check it.   Is the menu also off in the EN preview?

GAd!  I'm really surprised there are no comments yet!  This must be a broad issue. I can't believe there isn't some way to make Blu-ray disks rather than AVHD.  The latter does NOT act the same when played in a Blu-Ray player! If anyone has any ideas, please comment!

Generally this is a player specific issue and not the authoring. Most dvd and blu-ray players will freeze the last frame of the previous menu/transition/timeline while it loads the next one. Some players do not (such as the PS3 I believe). Also, this is unlikely your issue, but sometimes when a disc is burned too fast, the player has difficulty reading the disc (trying to read over the...

I personally consider the slideshow feature of Encore as more of a consumer gimmick than a genuine feature. I'd create the slideshow in Premiere and export out proper assets for authoring.

To what CoDec did you decode? Encore wants MPEG-2 program streams with properly prepared GOPs or normal Quicktim/ AVI files. Please be more specific. Mylenium

Welcome to the forum. While there are plenty of tutorials on Encore, on the Web, most are pretty specific to individual operations. Not a tutorial, per se, I strongly recommend Jeff Bellune's book, Focal Easy Guide to Adobe EncoreDVD 2.0 , Focal Press. Do not let the name fool you. This book is still 100% correct for CS3 and CS4. The only thing missing, regarding CS4, is the updated ...

The dvd format allows only a 2-bit image for subpicture highlights. This means you only get a single solid color for each highlight (=1, =2, =3). What you can do is split the highlight into 3 colors, and have each color be on a separate layer, and label the first one '=1', the second one '=2', and the third one '=3'. 2 bit also means the pixels cannot have any transparency. The pixels are ...

I hope you're somewhere in the world where it is still Friday night! I don't think there is enough information in your post to sort this.  But check your settings in Encore - are they correct.  You mention the aspect ratio, but not the pixel size.  check i t all.  Your problem will be if you exported from PR with the wrong par ore size. What do you mean by picture frame effect?  ...
