Prerender comp takes forever
Published (2009-11-29 23:56:00)
Render order and how the items are related, most certainly. When you render from the main comp, AE would only request the frame it currently needs for temporal sampling. It is smart enough for that. By pre-rendering in combination with your other effects you may somehow trigger a weird loop that forces AE to request multiple frames multiple times based on how it processes the effects stack. Hard to tell without seeing your actual setup. I...

You (usually) output movies in AE by choosing composition>make movie. This opens the render que in which you can then select wmv as your format by clicking on the word "Lossless" and changing the settings in the window that opens. When you have the settings you need, just hit the render button.

Perspective Animation Help
Published (2009-11-29 16:40:00)
Import the images into After Effects as an image sequence. If you have "a dozen" images, it sounds you have rather few for the effect you want. You then may want to use the Timewarp effect to smooth out the animation.

I use After Effects to generate material for cinema regularly.? Just make sure the technical requirements of the bureau who does the film transfer are adhered to strictly.

For future reference should anyone else have this problem. I forgot I had a demo version of AE CS4 that I played with months ago. Apparently I didn't properly uninstall it. You may need to run the Adobe CleanSweep program if you encounter this or do a proper de-install of the software under apps-utilities-adobe installers.

Time-stretch makes movie disappear
Published (2009-11-22 04:31:00)
I did this and it does not work.? I tried all three options. Time-stretch a layer from a specific time In the Timeline or Composition panel, select the layer. Choose Layer > Time > Time Stretch. Type a new duration for the layer, or type a Stretch Factor. To specify the point in time from which the layer will be time-stretched, click one of the Hold In Place options, and then click OK. Layer In-point Holds the...

Adding a movie to the screen of...
Published (2009-11-24 06:36:00)
Hi andy. Your method has worked in part, thanks! The movie is now moving (rotationally) in time with the screen. However, the 'corner pin' has made it look off center and when I try to manually adjust the tracking data frame by frame it keeps jumping back to the old position. By off center I mean that the movie is not filling the screen and it is slightly out of perspective. @ Mylenium We use...

Check the CoDec's specific options. Set the Color levels to RGB, not Rec. 709. make sure to install the latest version of the CoDecs, older versions are always Rec. 709. Mylenium

There is no such thing as a "parser plug-in". The message is misleading. Straight to the point: The update of AE itself or another Adobe program went wrong and dragged some components down the drain, perhaps because you didn't run as admin, perhaps due to some external interference. I'm afraid you can only reinstall from scratch to fix it or live with the error (which is no problem until the ...

You can drag the background layer in the Timeline panel so that it is under the logo layer. See "Change layer stacking order" . It seem that you are very new to After Effects. I very strongly recommend that you work your way through the materials under the " Getting started" heading on this page . After Effects is a very complex program, and you will not have a good and successful time if...

Is is a compromise. Here you have some typicial options, with pros and cons: Quicktime - Animation: Completely lossless. Highly efficient in terms of file sizes for graphics, not so much for "footage". Cross-patform, industry standard. Quicktime - PNG: Completely lossless. Very efficient for most content types. Extremely taxing to decode, it may not play back easily in anything but the ...

What operating system and version of After Effects are you using? If you're using After Effects CS4, have you updated to After Effects CS4 (9.0.2) ? Are you using Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously multiprocessing ?

Well, what settings do you use? Sounds you are creating your own mess by mingling up 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios and the respective comp settings. Also note, that you may be using the wrong size settings. PAR conversion has been changed in CS4, so older (incorrect) sizes will not be handled correctly. See this document for details. By all means, these things need to be obeyed correctly or you...

Well, with what program were rthe MP3's created? Over the years there have been slight enhancements and additions, which could cause trouble, depending on how soem encoders exploit those features. Generally AE doesn't like compressed audio, that's a fact of life. Things like VBR encoding, Surround MP3 or use of optional ID3 v2 tags definitely can make it go poof as can DRM data if the file was...

Well, ProRes is hardware accelerated, so it's quite possible it is causing this issue because it supresses screen redraw while its using your system resources. I'm not saying that it should, but if the files it generates are okay, then it's probably nothing to worry about. At best, you may wish to check the Accelerate composition, layer and footage panels option in your prefs. This may help ...
