Hi Tom, If you want that Editor should get open on double clicking the desktop icon, you can do the same by changing the settings of the Welcome Screen. That is when you double click on the desktop icon, a welcome screen will open giving you option to choose what you want to launch, on the right hand side top edge, there is a close button and there a button with 3 straight small bars. Click on that button and select the radio...

You backup your tags, albums, captions, etc. by using the organizer command File->Backup Catalog. This will also make backups of all of your photos. I don't know the answer to your question about the help system.

Because you are working with an AVCHD video file, I suggest that you -- post your question over on the Adobe Premiere Elements forum because it will have more participants importing AVCHD files to the Organizer. See http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premiere_elements -- also you could try initiating the Get Media for that problematic AVCHD video from within Premiere Elements 8: it might be successful. Ron, Here is a snapshot explaining a couple things. Bear in mind that I have the dinosaur version 2 of PSE, so things might be slightly different in your version. I used the Eyedropper tool (2nd column of row 11 on my toolbar) to select an area of the grass, which set the Foreground color.? I decided I wanted a lighter shade so I double-clicked the Foreground swatch which brought up the Color Picker. The little circle denotes the current...

You'll need to convert the PSA catalog to PSE 8 format. When you first start it, PSE 8 often asks if you want to convert an older catalog; if it doesn't, see this tech note for how to do the conversion manually: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/515/cpsid_51536.html You can convert a catalog even if you don't have the older version PSA/PSE running. However, you may encounter problems if the ...

You need to find your PSE7 catalog file, which is *.pse7db. Move that to the new computer. Also move the photos to the exact same location as they were in on the old computer. Once you have done that, install PSE7 and then double-click on the *.pse7db file, you should be all set.

You should not have a problem to have a new PC working with the catalog and files on drive H:. I don't think you have to, but it is probably good to assign the drive letter H to that drive should it come up with a different letter on the new computer. You can do that in Windows. Your second scenario would also work if you either copy everything to a new drive H: into the same folder ...

Did you simplify the layer at some point? When you do that, it stops being text and becomes just pixels.

larsonts, 1-- Was your full backup done with PSE 8 or with an earlier version of PSE? It might be that you need to do a Full backup under PSE 8 before you can do the Incremental backup. 2-- If your full backup was done with PSE 8, then post the folder structure of the hard drive to which you directed that full backup. I am making this request because I have observed people ...

You can write captions, tags, notes and GPS locations to the photo files using the Organizer command File->Write Tags... After you do that, if you want to make copies on a CD, your captions should be included in the copy.

I installed ACR 5.6 in PSE 8 today and it seems to work fine (it is a beta or rc version however). I would think it works OK in PSE 7 also. If I get some time today I'll see if it installs and works in PSE 7. NOTE: the installer does not work for PSE. You have to manually install ACR. Let me know if you have any problems. It's not very intuitive. Jim...

Here are few things I would suggest you to do: 1. Ensure that you are checking right catalog. 2. Create an Album in that catalog and mark it for Sync. Ensure that new album is synced properly. If not share your Sync-Log which is avaialable at %USERPROFILE%/C:\Documents and Settings\vsharma\Application Data\ Adobe\Photoshop Elements Sync Agent\1.0\Logs You can also mail me at ...

Hi, I am not sure if you have read some specific issues with PSE 8 and Win7, but I can assure you that PSE 8 is well supported on Win 7. Here is the Ms website as well stating the same and also stating that we are Logo certified on Win7 with PSE 8. http://www.microsoft.com/win dows/compatibility/win dows-7/en-us/Browse.aspx?type= Software&category=Photo%20%26%20Video&subcategory= Camera%...
