Yes, you can. Consult ImportToPRCBrep and ImportToPRCTess code samples of how to put your data into 3D PDF (there are also some docs on Parsing and Creating PRC Files and Creating 3D Annotations). But if the format is complex and feature-rich you will have difficulties with poorly documented parts of PRC standard when writing your converter.

mmcmah ,   My situation was identical to yours, and the registry fix solved the Capture3d error.? For me, resetting "AppInit_DLLs"="acaptuser64.dll" was the solution? with Acrobat Pro Ext. 9.2 on Win 7 x64.? Repairing the installation did not help at all.   My question is what is the cause of the problem, and why is the above registry edit necessary ?? Is it a Win 7 compatibility issue that will be fixed...

Disable model tree
Published (2009-11-30 06:55:00)
I would like to use adobe 9 extended for presenting models on the website, however I don’t want visitors to see the model tree. I already read that it is not possible to do that in the current version. Is there however a possibility to have this option in a later update?

Published (2009-12-03 11:41:00)
I purchased Acrobat Pro Extended last night in order to make some 3D PDFs for a sales trip TOMORROW and I cannot get this to work. I have updated APE to version 9.2.0 like one post suggested but it is still not working properly.   I can create some models from inventor files but only those that are one assembly file with a few parts. If I try to create a model from an inventor file that has a "top level assembly" (Inventor...

I had problems until it updated to 9.2, then all went OK. I've created 3D parts, assemblies and assemblies containing assemblies from IV 2010 files (see attached). Attachments: 479186-10.pdf (1.6 MB)

How can I set Line Width
Published (2009-12-08 03:19:00)
Hello,   When I print a PDF document with a 3D annot in "Illustration" Mode, I've got a bad printing. All lines are too thin and sometime hidden. Is it possible to set the line width? where? in U3D doc or directly in pdf3d engine ?   I apologize for my bad english.   Thank you for answers

You can still suppress the model tree if you edit the PDF in a text editor. Uncompress the PDF using pdftk ( http://www.accesspdf.com/pdftk/ ) , open it in the text editor and delete all occurences of /NP true or change them to /NP false Then recompress the file again with pdftk. On a Unix like OS you can automate this procedure. To edit the file some.pdf , run (on...

I do not think it is possible in U3D - there seems to be no field setting line width in the U3D spec. As to the "pdf3d engine" - likely no. I was complaining on this forum about similar problem with point size (it can not be controlled and was changed from 1 pixel to 3x3 pixel in a new version of Reader) and got the following reply from a man of Adobe ( http://forums.adobe.com/message/...

Dear Adobe people and/or others (Ian?), what are the legal implications (if any) of cut-n-pasting pseudocode for writing PRC file from the online PRC spec into my implementation? On one hand that seems to be an open standard, but on the other it is part of SDK and "This Software and Related Documentation are proprietary to Adobe Systems Incorporated." and pseudocode is missing from...

Dear Ian, dou you have a minimal example of a 'bad' pdf/prc file before modifying a view and a "good" one after? If you post such an example we can try to disassemble the files into text representation and try to see the difference.     Sincerely, Michail
