Help with receiving calls with HFL
Published (2009-11-27 19:23:00)
All my incoming calls go to my iphone. Outgoing calls no problem. I have set system to "Prompt" when a call is coming in as I have read that suggestion on the forums. The prompt tells me I have a call and then the call goes to my iphone. Any hints on how I can get this working on my 2006 TL with Navigation would be appreciated. I have read that others have this same problem. I can say "Transfer" and...

Rear brake issue
Published (2009-11-19 03:45:00)
My 2007 Acura TL (Type S) had about 55000km on it with original brakes when I was in for an oil change. They made a comment about some rust on the rear brakes and wanted to have a closer look at it, but didn't have time so I had to book another appointment. I figured they were just out to get me for an unnecessary brake service. There was a bit of surface rust on the rear rotors, but nothing that looked abnormal to me. When I brought it...

How about going to one of those do it yourself high pressure car washes.... soak the entire car down heavily with the pre-soak soap, let it sit for a while... high pressure soap the car and pressure rinse it. Make sure you spray all around the windows and trim very well... this should blast/drown/kill them. Its cheap and worth a try..... Im just brainstorming here... good luck.

2005 TL Reverse Issue
Published (2009-11-25 16:19:00)
Hi guys, thanks for the replies! I have tried some of the "tricks" that I've read on the net, like putting it in 1st and rolling a bit, that doesn't work. Putting into 1st, then neutral, releasing the clutch then pushing in the clutch, then into reverse, that doesn't work. I haven't tried letting up on the clutch, I'll try that. The clutch feels good, so I'm not sure if that's the problem,...

2005 TL Reverse Issue

If the lock-out is anything like that on the RSX Type S, it's ECU actuated. Try resetting the ecu (either pull the fuse or pull the batter for around 30 sec) and see if it's better.

On the 04-06 the lenses are a direct replacement without the need for a new LED light panel or anything like that. Lucky you. I have an 07 and I'm pretty sure I have to swap out the LED panel to either the 04-06 or 07-08 Type-S panel. (The 07-08 base model uses red LED's where the rest of the TL models use standard white LED's since the lenses themselves are red). Still trying to get an exact ...

My only beef is I hate how the visor lights work. The flip up on the mirror blocks the light, its a small thing though. Well, that and it doesn't wash and wax itself.

Highly doubtful. CPO has nothing to do with updating...except maybe for recall and TSB items. However, it doesn't hurt to ask if they'll throw in an updated disc for no charge.

As far a spoilers, I have always preferred the lip-type spoilers just to accent the rear a tad.
Overall, I believe it's cheaper to buy the ground-effects together as a package, however, if you don't want to do that, I'd recommend buying the front first, see how that looks installed, then the rear, then the sides, etc. The front definitely provides the most change in appearance; the ...

I have Yokohamas on right now and they have been great so far. I've had several set of Falkens in the past and while they handle very good, they get loud and wear pretty fast.

Not much difference, if any at all. Same engine, tranny, navi, etc. I think the seats are a little different, but not much. All 3rd gen TLs have HIDs as standard equip.

Honda/Acuras have anti-theft security on their audio equipment. There is a separate code for the radio and navi! When the battery is disconnected, the radio or navi system will think that it was disconnected from the car and think you are the thief! I am not positive exactly what a TL will say when the radio/Navi is "locked", but does the radio function properly? Everything work except the ...

Open the glove box, look on the outside end of the box, usually the drivers side, a white stick-on tag with the # is on mine.

Did that on my `06 RSX: Honestly, with the summer tires I choose for the 18" wheels - there was no difference in the ride or noise within the vehicle. I really expected a harsher and nosier ride with the shorter sidewall height but was very pleasantly surprised by the lack of either.
Good luck!
