Read "Dangerous Grains". Good book to explain Gluten Intolerance. Or google "The Gluten File".

Thanks Matt! The taco meat and meatless chili sound really good, I'll try that next week. The lemon juice water and the iced tea are on the list too. Unsweetened tea sounds awful, but maybe I could get my tastebuds into if I really get motivated for a few days. I was reading they tested 1/48 of a slice of bread was the level of gluten that was damaging. I'd just like to not be so tired, irritable and having indigestion all the time....

Thanks, Amanda, that's very good to know. I was taking Vitamin D without realizing that it could worsen magnesium deficiency. I make sure that there is at least a 4 hour lag in taking the two supplements: I may take Vit D at breakfast, then after lunch, I may take a 250 mg magnesium. Just in case they may deplete one another if taken too closely together. So far so good. Will see if these rid me of my dizziness....

I always try natural cures first, but if you're not healing, that's where modern medicine comes in; I'd also get a second opinion from a naturopath. I was on antibiotics for Mastitis. Mastitis is an infection of breast tissue. You can die from it. All the garlic in the world wouldn't have saved me. After my antibiotics I was on probiotics for a month. Avoiding dairy and other intestinal irritants will also help minimize...

Then it would be that much more important for you to cut through the bullshit and go right at the truth, don't you think? I used to have 15/20 vision before I cut out all sugar and adopted an all meat diet. Now after a couple of years, my vision is better than 20/20. I don't know why that is, but I'm...

No problem. Drinking, in my opinion, can be a habit used to "fill you up" on meals containing lots of fat, and otherwise little protein. But the general rule is drinking between eating is most beneficial, since the water goes through the system doing what it's supposed to do with little interference with digestion. If I eat a very high fat meal (which can actually be no larger than the size of our hand) than I usually...

Quote: I am feeling fatigued and often dizzy ... especially when I go without eating for more than 4 hours. Hm, could be a sign of either just plain not enough food energy, or a metabolism that is still tilted more toward sugar-burning than fat burning. 3-4 hours after a meal is when fat-burning really kicks in, so something is choking up for you at that point. First impression, I too think it looks like your body is eating itself up. (what...

Well, if you have an infection the antibiotics can help you should probably take them. It would be kind of pointless to die of something, or get really sick from, we figured out how to cure 60 years ago.
Personally if I'm in a lot of pain I take something for it. I don't do it often, but why suffer needlessly any more than you must? But don't take tylenol, I read a report it might ...

There are some on the board who say nitrites aren't all as bad as they're cracked up to be. Just don't burn the bacon, they say. I would just take the fat from the bacon and cook it slightly, then throw out the rest. It's mostly fat anway, and I'm guessing most of the nitrites/ates lie in the flesh. If you eat exclusively from home (and maybe even not sometimes), you'll find that corned beef, ...

Hi Maxell,
I have to make this a drive-by posting as I really have to get on with my chores, but I just wanted to say that magnesium could really help.
I had dizziness in the mornings a few months back and eventually got rid of it, mainly by supplementing chelated magnesium. This mineral is involved in blood sugar regulation, so if you are low in magnesium you can get blood sugar ...

Thanks both, I've cut out wheat and all sugar, including artificial sweeteners so hopefully next month will be less painful. I've had them since I was a child unfortunately - I used to get 4/5 month, but since having a small hole in my heart plugged I now solely suffer from menstrual migraines.

So what else were these folks eating? It couldn't have all been saturated fat. Maybe it was the most saturated fat in those who ate the most carbohydrate? I'd like to see the percentages of macronutrients these people ate. Also, I need to know what type of fat these people ate as well. Did they lump saturated with trans-fat?
