For limited companies I believe it's similar re: the distiction between capital gains and revenue. Plus it depends if you occasionally sell domains or if 'domain selling' is your main business. This also brings up the issue of a domain being an asset vs zero inherent value but an expense (reg fees). Depending on the nature of your business you might have some under each category. As mentioned earlier, if you buy a domain for...

The way I look at it is that the chances of 2 daft people in this world coming together is remote. What I mean is you have someone daft enough to pay it and secondly someone daft enought to hold onto it whilst the price gets negotiated past 1k-2k-3k etc all the way upto 10k. I agree, whilst these things do happen I still hold out my sceptical eye, unless it's someone who is known that is involved.

Good quality 'first choice' generic and at a highly reasonable price. Great to see sales of this kind.

Conversely lots go on that never get reported so I guess any 'funny money' sales would balances out. I know of one name where the buyer paid £20k via a sales site, but never collected the name. Registrant changed to the sales venue and buyer was paid. Loads of wierd and wonderful things go on Which ones do you think are supposed sales?

Can't see it going much higher than myself. Seems like it was an opening bid that they put to auction. Normally big names/money they will put in premium auctions and tout for buyers before hand. Any other opinions?
