Retin-A Micro withdrawls
Published (2009-11-25 13:40:00)
QUOTE (AriadnaLoli @ Nov 24 2009, 10:19 PM) At night, I cleansed, toned, and then used the Retin-A Micro gel. I was wary at first, but the dermatologist said that where I was on the antibiotic, the initial breakout wouldn't be so bad. Today, I'm done with the Duac, and quit the antibiotic several months ago, and only used the Retin-A. However, my skin is starting to break out from it being a week without it (and...

Retin-A Micro withdrawls
Published (2009-11-26 19:07:00)
Man, this is bullshit. Ugh! It's been about eight or nine days without Retin-A Micro, and of course, there's not much you can do when it's the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. My skin is suffering a mild breakout, but it's not getting any better. My advice to everyone: If the "refill until XX/XX/XXXX" date is near on your meds, don't expect any doctor to help you out if you do go over....

moisturizer theory. . thoughts?
Published (2009-11-24 14:48:00)
Hey guys, Here's a theory that I have about moisturizing on retinoids that crossed my mind today (just a theory, I'm happy to hear other people's takes on it). I've had a pretty bad IB on retin-A, like, 7 weeks straight of the worst acne of my whole life. My skin wasn't that irritated, but definitely flaky, so I moisturized a ton. Since I've always used cetaphil myself, I would end up putting it on 4-5 times a...

Azelaic Topical Cream?
Published (2009-11-24 12:01:00)
I currently use Finacea which is 15% azelaic acid. Technically, it is for Rosacea, which I do not have, but it honestly works pretty well. I am decently clear most days. I will say that your redmarks will fade MUCH better on this product. I use it at night and then in the morning I spot treat with Duac (5% BP and 1% Clindamycin).

PLEASE HELP-- Everybody ignores...
Published (2009-11-23 06:07:00)
Hey guys. I've posted twice and people have not been so friendly so far Anyway, I'm on 100mg minocycline everyday for the past 2 years, and a 10% sulfur product called Prascion. This has been a very effective combo and I've been relatively acne free for like 2 years-- i'll still get pimples, but not more than a couple a week, and oftentimes not big ones. Otherwise my skin looks pretty damn clear. But under a makeup light I...

QUOTE (Jordan19 @ Sep 15 2006, 12:28 PM) Retin A helps a lot, but it just takes a really long time to help. my skin got worse during the first 3 months, not only did I break out a little more but it was all red and peely then after about 3 months it started improving, not only did i get a lot less pimples but the texture of my skin was (and sitill is) so much smoother. Agreed. ...

QUOTE (jen0489x @ Nov 27 2009, 07:35 PM) Well, for about two years I was on differin and it did wonders for my skin! I still had about one active pimple at a time, but that would be absolute heaven compared to the current status of my skin. Anyways, about a year ago, I could no longer afford insurance, and therefore could not afford the astronomical price of differin gel. I tried to...

So its probably been about three months on Retin A and I just wanted to report that I am still so happy with the results. My skin is a lot calmer, probably a pimple or two once a week. The texture of my skin has changed a lot... its a lot dryer than I was used to before with still some oiliness in the t-zone. I'm just glad the pimples have stopped coming. I used to really like to use ...

Ive been using Tretinoin 0.025% for quite some time now maybe 5-6 months and Im still getting comedonal acne. My regimen is Retin-a in the am and lots of BP in the pm. I know it isnt recommended to put Retin-a in the morning but I dont expose myself to sunlight cos I work at night. I still get a few blackheads and clogged pores on cheeks. I really want to be fully clear. Do you think...

Thanks for the note of encouragement. I'm at the 6-week mark (Retin-A Micro 0.04%) and am losing hope. I've got a zillion angry little whiteheads and a couple of monsters. I will try to be patient, though.

I have been using Retin-A Micro 0.1% for a year now. My gel pump just ran out the other day, and the refill date (I had 3 refills left) ended in September. Since it is the weekend, it will be a few days before I can get some more. Do you think my skin will flare up badly? It's been doing okay so far, but I'm still worried about it. It'll probably be a week without the Retin-A Micro. Does ...

this seems to make sense, and it kind of goes along with my worry about using mineral makeup while on RAM. putting comedogenic stuff on your skin while using a product that (seems) to turn every comedone into a zit, it sounds aweful!!!! i use cetaphil all the time, so i guess its time to try and find something new... youre idea of jojoba oil scares me though, being acne prone i have this ...
