Olay product rubs off?
Published (2009-11-22 15:17:00)
It could be the titanium dioxide in that particular Olay moisturizer. It's used as a pigment (white) and thickener in skin care products, and it's also used in sunscreens for sensitive skin. It seems like it could still produce the same whitish appearance of zinc oxide that some people on the forums have discussed.

What happened?

I replaced the 2.5% BP and the salicylic acid with BP 5% twice a day. The result? DRAMATIC IMPROVEMENT. The skin is still not completely cleared, but in 2 days I got more results than with the full Exposed treatment in 2 weeks. I will keep you posted. Seems that this combination of some Exposed products and 5% BP really works. This post has been edited by Paxter : Yesterday, 08:50 AM

I got a 15 or 20% (can't remember) salicylic acid peel.. it's the MUAC (makeup artist choice) brand. I love it. I've used it plenty and it always refreshes my skin and makes pimples shrink and my skin glows. I just used it a couple days ago and my skin has been a bit flaky, but other than that, all is good.

So, I have had bad acne past. As of this last year it has not been as bad as it has been in the previous years of my life. However, towards the beginning of the year it was not great. The whole year I have been trying to nail down a regimen that I think works and gives me what I want. As of bout 2-3 months ago I figured out pretty much exactly what I need to include in my regimen and what order to do things in. So, I had that down. I had been...

Metazine gel

QUOTE (Crooked I @ Nov 18 2009, 10:58 AM) The Nicam Gel still seems to be working well too. Willow, do you suffer from dryness from the gel, and if so, do you moisturise? I use a moisturizer in the morning (Cranberry Cream and/or Hydrating Emulsion), but not at night when I use the Metazine. It doesn't seem to dry my skin out though. I think there are quite a few differences between the Metazine and the Nicam gel in...

Thats nice... But according to me... Changing treatments often only leads to irritationg and short term success... Its better to stick to one and see how it goes.. Though it might get frustrating from time to time to see no significant improvement ... Patience is the key when it comes to clearing up... hope this helps.. Don't bother going to a doctor to get a 20% SA peel. 75 dollars is a rip off! I bought a 30 ML bottle for 26 dollars from amazon. That will last me about 10 peels.

definitely bp. but salicyclic acid is in some exfoliants which could be beneficial, especially if you use them together...correctly.

I really dislike both of those systems. I used Murad for about 4 months and it was horrible. That was a big waste of money, i want my money back I got several small pimples and white heads all on my cheek. And the neutrogena one made my face so oily and dry at the same time that it hurt.

According to what i think only time will tell... May be the acne underneath ur skin is showing up its too early to conclude to whether or not the regimen works... I have been on Dan's regimen for abt 1 1/2 months i must say at the start i got a bit worse .. but then it acne subsided... Just keep at it ... It might work... just dont keep changing regimen before you give it sometime......

Don't we all! I actually like Cetaphil. Use a gentle terry cloth for exfoliation, though (it provides none). All the harsher chemical washes were probably not beneficial to your skin, so I think its a safe bet. my derm reccomended a gentle dove cleanser if I didn't like cetaphil, but I don't see why I need to change because its soothing to my skin...but if you do than by all means. i...

Proactiv is horrible!!!!! Well... it didn't work for me, at least... but then again I didn't really stick to it that precisely but when I did it didn't seem to do much for me.... It ended up being a waste of money for me because I stopped using it and the box just sat there with bottles.. the only thing that was probably okay about it was its BP bottle.. but that's about it.. IF anything, ...
