Amna yay And Karla--I found a pic of the sky and a field, cropped it a bit. Then photoshopped a girl in because it was looking too bland. The girl is pretty small It's mostly the sky.

Mmm...kind of - I was describing my WIP to my grandmother, and she's all "Oh, like what Dan Brown did?" And granted, it's nothing about religious conspiracy theories/groups so I'm pretty sure that my use is in a completely different direction, but she read one sentence from the book that my description reminded her of, and I was ready to send my jump drive through the shredder!

So many questions! I'm going to be cool and answer them all. Why YA? Because I've been writing since I was a tiny little thing. Basically, my characters always tended to be 12 or 13 until I reached that age (that is, after I stopped writing with animals as the mc's), when they moved up a little, and that kept happening till my characters hit 17/18 when they just sort of stayed there. ...

Another question for the girls: are you a Miss or a Ms? (...

Trends come and go, and by the time time one is spotted it's usually already on its way out. Right now, fantasy is hot, and YA in general is very hot. But if you're starting a book now, it'll be 2-3 years before it hits the shelves, and by then who knows what will be hot. Writing what you want is always the best way to go And great books sell no matter what the genre or what's ...
