Oh, for the love of --. That's what I get for having half-caff this morning. But given the lack of chatter about her, and that her last sales (as reported on PM) were back in '08, I'm wondering if she's active.

Anyone queried Sally Harding lately? [Edited to add: They have a "don't query except by referral" etc. note on their home page at the moment, but I don't think it was there 6 weeks ago. Otherwise, why would I have queried her, right?]

Sign me as another author who's not going to let it go . The implication in all of this, it seems to me is the publishing world saying to authors, "You want a book to be made of your writing? You mean your writing is worth something and we should pay you? Ha, ha, hahhh! Sign on the dotted line and you can pay us." Sorry, not drinking that particular pitcher of KoolAid. No, but that is a powerhouse agency. Gail Hochman asked for a partial many moons ago. Very decent people. The are deeply ensconced in film also. Good for you.

The question is what she can do, which you can know in advance. A publisher either has the capacity to produce a book that is stockable (deep discount, unlimited returns etc) or they don't. A publisher needs either experience/expertise *or* a track record. That's just how it is. In the absence of that you are letting your book be their learning experience.

They do look very new. The owner names are listed in this subforum's Master list with a different publisher, but the links are broken.
Lyrical does have better-than-average looking cover art, but other than that it's hard to guess. Maybe contact some of their authors and ask for info?

I recently did 70 hours of web content for The Analytix Group (Rex Halbeisen) and it looks like I will have to sue to get my money. Beware this outfit!

Sounds like a vanity press to me. I'd say you should try publishers that work on Yog's Law: money flows toward the author, not away from him/her.

Mr. Williams does indeed claim to have extensive experience in all facets of publishing. Unfortunately, none of his experience is specific as to where he actually worked.
He also claims to have sold many books from family members, but he doesn't give their titles.
Before putting this agency on my submissions list, I'd want to see specific information regarding Mr. Williams publishing ...

Just a little quick research doesn't tell me much. They publish. Some of the cover art seems okay, not the best I've seen. There's a lot of books, but apparently the word means the love of rushing into print (according to one comment). I'd do a little more research into their authors. Maybe google a couple or check them out on Amazon and then maybe Borders or Barnes and Noble. Wish I ...
