This is really not an issue centered around which does de-interlacing better. It has to do with the fact that the Radiance cannot take a 60i signal and automatically switch to two different output memories (60p vs 24p) based on whether the input signal is video sourced or film sourced. What I would like to have is the automatic frame rate switching (found in the Oppo, but today scaling comes with it, I don't want the scling) coupled with...

Convert HD3000 to standalone?
Published (2009-11-09 11:08:00)
I never knew that the bundled HD3000s were locked in some way. I know that some of the bundled processors were limited to 720p output, but how would the processor itself be restricted to the your old Optoma beamer if there was only a HDMI cable running between them ?

Gefen is not the only company making HDMI switches. Just like HDMI cables the prices range from real cheap to ridiculously overprice. If you are talking about a decent price scalar then the price between an expensive switch and a cheap scalar is miles apart. Take the DVDO Edge priced from $588 to $799. How much is the most expensive switch Gefen has?

Duo vs. Flea I have searched the forums but can not find out if: Has anyone compared the flea to the Duo or edge? This is sort of a weird question. Some of the Radiance's biggest strengths are its ability to add to a display that was otherwise lacking - in terms of a CMS say, or gamma adjustments. So if you are asking which type of display the Radiance "complements" the best - then you may have historically gotten an answer like the JVC-RS1 projector - or a Pioneer Kuro Plasma - two displays with great ...
