Wondering your guys opinion on low voltage fasteners. My bundles will have 5RG6 3cat5 4 14/2 speaker wires, probably split the runs a little, but what do you guys suggest to fasten to studs where needed?

A friend of mines who just returned from a business trip to China dropped me a note indicating how cheap it would be for several of us to pool our monies together and purchase theater seating directly from China. He believes that we can get four leather seats with leggett Platt mechanisms delivered to NYC docks for under $900. Here is a link to the manufacturers page: http://www.alibaba.com...

I'm adding up the peak wattage for all my amps, subwoofers, and so forth as I clearly need another hobby. Anyways, for the sake of comparison, I was wondering if anyone happens to know how many watts of power there are in a typical movie theater and how pissed off my wife would be if I tried to replicated that. Also, if I went ahead anyways, is there someone on the board who'd be ...

I bought a Paragon Contempo 4 oz popcorn maker last year after finally finishing my home theater. I'm a huge popcorn fan, but I'm very disappointed with the popcorn I make. It is often so chewy that when you chew it, it chews up into hard little clumps that I have to either swallow whole or spit out. It's not light and fluffy like either movie theater or microwave popcorn. It doesn't break apart...

If you really want to do this on a budget, check out your local Walmart. They sell movie poster frames there. To get the posters, check out your local Mom & Pop video rental stores. They usually give away or sell the promotional posters that they get with their movies. When I bought my frames, I bought them from FrameUSA. I'm extremely pleased with the quality. They were a little ...

A couple of years ago I started automating my home theater. This resulted in a program that controls my lighting, show a movie trivia slide show with background music and voice over announcements followed by a random trailer sequence and my main movie. It integrates with Windows Explorer, MyMovies (MCE plugin) and MediaPortal for quick access. I'm giving away the base version (slide- and ...

It was recently suggested that a new thread be created to contain the projects that forum members are working on in Blender. For those who don't know, Blender is a free open- source program for 3D modeling and animation. It is available at http://www.Blender.org . Many of us have used this tool to create custom home theater intros thanks to threads like http...

I've owned a Stir Crazy Popcorn Maker for many years (actually wore one out and had to buy a replacement). One of my gripes with the Stir Crazy is that it didn't quite produce popcorn with true movie theater texture. The popcorn was always a bit too chewy. The Stir Crazy simply trapped too much moisture (steam) due to the bowl design (the newest bowl design is even worse) and that made the ...

Home theater fans, I have a set of Berkline theater seats with built in cup holders (silver metal) and have been looking for a large, insulated (cold, hot) cup that would fit and provide the movie goer with enough liquid (so that they would not have to get up during a movie for a refill), for months. Well, I came across a perfect solution today at Wal-Mart. It is a large BLACK BUBBA SPORT 34 ...
