The Sub may be vibration the connections loose. Check tightness and trouble shoot, play some heavy bass tracks and when it starts to go red/green, grab and hold the connections to the XBOX and TV to keep them tight and firmly seated.

Actually I think Craig did have his panel to some blind tests. I do blind tests all the time when I swap out electronics. The best part of testing is when you bring people into the theater and run a demo(1000th time) and someone says"what did you do", it sounds much better. They had no idea I changed anything. I have also heard the opposite where they thought it became worse.

The Jamo Sub300 has decent output from 30 Hz and above within it's price range (for a B&M sub). I would highly recommend dual Sub300's if you want to maintain headroom and low distortion within that frequency range at high levels.
However, they can dig deeper and with enough room gain can hit down to 20 Hz. Of course, simply hitting 20 Hz and hitting 20 Hz with sufficient air moving ...

In that situation I would go for the Epik Phoenix. The PC12 Plus would be a great sub, but will it have the output of the Phoenix? I wouldn't think so, guessing from the specs. The Phoenix has a larger cabinet, more powerful amp, and much larger driver. The only problem is the Phoenix is backordered by quite a bit. You might also take a look at the Elemental Designs A7-350 . It would probably ...

I would love to see the test results from someone like craig, Ilkka, Ed, etc. My boss has 2 JL Audio subs and an amp in his BMW M5 (along with a truckload of other goodies) - and they sound awesome. I'm really glad to see JL Audio put the zillions of dollars they have made off the car audio kiddies to good use...

At $499 it was a deal I couldn't pass up. It's going to be replacing an Adire Rava in the living room. Not that there's anything wrong with the Rava, I think it's a good sub - very study and well made - but, it was my ...

I'm running the Behringer FBQ2496, probably the most versatile low cost solution, you'll need a Radio Shack SPL meter and a couple of RCA to 1/4" adapters totals < $200. You can use REW which is free software to graph the frequency response in input settings.

I ordered a MFW-15 in late may.
I talked to Kyle yesterday and he said my sub should ship next week. I was expecting August so I'll be very happy with a mid July ship date. I'll have my new DSLR before then so I'll try to take some pics and report back when I get my new MFW-15.
I hope some who have received warranty replacement amps can post here.

I voted something else based on your choices. But, if I was forced, I'd take the Submersive.
Duals is where it's at for me, and the only choice you have on the list is dual MFW's, no thanks. If you had say a ULS-15 dual drive or something similar on the list, I'd be all over it. Dual Submersives would be sweet though, but a little on the pricey side.

You can't go wrong either way. One thing to think about - the resale value of the Hsu subs will be greater when you upgrade (and you will upgrade in the future!)

Looks great. Should be exciting to read impressions from someone who has done the DIY or buys one of these.

Very nice write up Tweak. What tuning were you using for both subs? Are you going to write more using different tuning and room comps?
