I would start with looking for auditions from your favorite pick of the ID
companies out there or heading out to your local audio shop and get a feel
for the sound you like, ie. forward, laid back, smooth, bright etc. Once
you start listening to various speakers you will get to understand what
these terms mean. Once you have an idea of the sound you like you can start

Local dealer told me this is only a problem with regular "tube type" tvs.
It does not affect LCD, DLP, etc.

Has anyone owned the Jamo E680 they seem pretty nice looking but am unble to try them out...B&H in new York has them but they don't have a listening room. I am considering the Energy C500's but would love to know hoe they compare. Anyone own Jamo? Not popular in the states even though they have good write-ups...hope this thread is not dead.

CV wont get a lot of love in many HT forums. I have never heard them so can't say what they would be like compare to other brands. Rule of thumb is to spend more on your speaker than your receiver. Buying the best receiver in the world and cheap speakers won't improve sound quality. You are better off with a cheap receiver and good speakers.
