Is it on all inputs/source devices? Is it all the way on the very edge or in from the edge a little? If you change the pic size with Tv remote does the line move or stay? If you enter service mode and look at test patterns do you see it?

That's why they call it "blu" Ray but seriously check out the calibration threads, it is just an adjustment to your picture. You can change brightness and ever other conceivable setting witht he colors. so the UV2A IS better at off angle blacks even better! tbh though who really knows how well they will be untill there are units out for sale in retail, untill then your relying on a manufacture promoting the future tech and they will make it look better any way they can to get people hyped over the product before it comes out. any way you look at it though this should be a nice step forward in LCD tech hopefully eliminating the long standing...

bpmurr,
I'm interested in you first impressions of this set (PQ, Gaming lag, AMP...); I know you've been through some sets recently including the Luxia series. I have a 52" on order, should get it sometime next week. So far everything I've read on the B750 has been positive the only thing that still concerns me a little is gaming lag. Please keep us informed...Thanks!

Weird that a non XVT model would feature the LED backlighting with local dimming (the only way I know of to approach that contrast ratio on an LCD), and both the 550XVT and the 470M as well as the smaller 420M all feature it. That would be fantastic news, as I don't want a huge panel, but was looking at the 550 just to get local dimming.

My 46" XBR4 will be delivered tomorrow between 10-12. I saw the 40" this weekend and went for the 46" deal. Any advice for a stand or mount? If you just got one or are geting one what media will you watch first on your XBR4?

What gamma controls does the XBR8 have?? But it may be a review mistake. On the 111, the HDGURU used gamma one (sub 2.00 gamma) instead of 2, which has a 2.20-2.24 gamma (or close).

So I got the latest HD/DVR box from Comcast and through the HDMI the lip sync is still off. I am using component now and that works well enough. I am trying to like this tv but I paid some good money to have to settle for component. Calling LG is well and all but they just give you a ticket number and say we will contact you when they have an update.
So far most of the people that I have ...

Anyone mount the 8500 to a flat panel mount? I forgot to use the included
spacers and I'm wondering if this is or will be a problem.

You know I don't remember, sorry. I thought I read it somewhere but I might be wrong. If they use a Samsung panel as some have suggested then it is probably a S-PVA panel.

Don't know how much help this response will be, probably will end up confusing you. I owned both of these tv's for a short time, returned them both. The ones I had both suffered from major clouding and flashlights. I will say I do think the picture on both sets was great however I just couldn't stand the clouding or the flashlights on either. One thing I did like better was Samsungs ability ...

I'm just going to set the cable box up via component and audio as Coax Digital right into my Z-5500 brain. I will just use optical for the PS3 and connect that directly to the Z-5500 as well...
I'm going to try the DIVX and MKV mod now, ...
