We just got word from the NSM who was out of town...a decent sized batch shipped to us Friday and another is shipping to us Monday. In addition, we are going to have those not doing any services to their projectors drop shipped to save on time. We appreciate all the loyal customers for AVS, and are happy to be able to continue providing these to our customers. Any questions, feel free to call us next week when we reopen .

Make sure the product is damaged before refusing and take pictures with your phone or camera. http://www.ecost.com/ecost/informati...g_handling.asp It appears that "all sales are final statement" conflicts with many portions of the page and that ecost may very well grant a refund if certain...

@Cine4Home
Hi Ekkehart,
on your homepage you said something about an upcoming review of the VW200, do you have a small preview of this review for us? Or maybe some release date of this review?
Oh, and you were measuring the temperature inside of this PJ - any conclusions yet?
Cheers,
Sandel

This site:
http://community.whathifi.com/blogs/...expo-2009.a spx
also mentions "a throw ratio of 1.494 - 2.279:1".
They don't say which chip it uses, but I would guess one of the newer .65" chips.

The problem is anything in the sub $10k range that will light up a screen like that is going to be quite poor in image quality...bright, but poor. Most are also presentation projectors, so there are other limitations there too.

That seems to be the million dollar question. Only a handful at this time have actually seen them both in a controlled setting. If I were you I would wait until this weekend sometime (hopefully) for Jason's review of the VW85 to come out. Then you can compare/contrast the differences and measurements of the two (he has already posted his RS35 review) based on what you deem most important based...

It looked OK, but was hard to really evaluate as it was on a 106" diagonal Black Diamond screen with quite a bit of ambient light.
It wasn't a show stopper for me anyway. I'll write more this weekend.

Hi, congrats on your new toy! I 'm looking forward for mine in a couple of weeks.
Couple of questions: What was your previous projector and how does it compare? what is your screensize? How is the motion handling of the proj? Do you look in THX mode? What are your findings about that? Have you seen DLP 's like IN83 and how do they compare? We all know how good it is in dark scenes, but how ...

From product ID design, OSD/Remote Control artworks/layouts, functions and performances definitions, color tuning, color gamut to key components selection are all from ViewSonic own engineering and product marketing resources. Availability - "mid 2009 for 2000 euros (= ~$2500 US // $3200 CAN)"
(I know - technically this should be in the under $3000 forum but since it replaces the w5000 and the price on this is not officially announced it would be appropriate to at least announce this here?)
Across the pond, at CEBIT 2009, seems Benq has announced the w5000's replacement . . . . ...

Hi Mayer
Wow looks very nice. A few questions typical of auto iris.
Can you see it working?
Do you notice any brightness compression.
Does it effect ANSI contrast?
What is the on/off with iris and without iris.
Thank you.
