Load Bearing Elements Under -...
Published (2009-12-11 01:28:00)
I read another post about these overlaid views. To be honest it sounds like a much lengthier process than what I did, to have to set up 3 duplicate views just to show walls per level seems like a long winded process, and I'm having a nervous twitch just thinking about trying to do this for a large high rise. I havent tested the theory yet, but I believe that making the floors transparent -should- allow you to see non-load bearing elements...

Load Bearing Elements Under -...
Published (2009-12-15 07:33:00)
Hatching load bearing elements under a slab is standard practice in South Africa (probably Southern Africa - Namibia, Botswana, Zim, etc) as well as the Indian Ocean Islands where we do quite a bit of work. The reasons for using hatched bearing elements are simple... (1) If an engineer picks up a drawing to design a floor plate the bearing elements are immediately known (see note below), (2) the contractor can make double sure everything is in...

Could you post an image of your final desired result ? I am thinking using filters would be a much less painful and quicker way of doing what you want to achieve.

Hello AUGI Members, We are a Structural engineering firm using Revit Structure 2010 on multiple projects with various architectural organizations around the country. I all cases we exchange Revit models ("architect model to structural engineer" & "structural model to architect") to incorporate design updates and modifications. We utilize this method because attempting to use the tool in the publized...

Sloped Joist Linestyle

Pretty sure you are seeing model lines which are still dashed, just at a certain slope, when viewed in a normal plan view appear like a solid line. I haven't played with the family, but it sounds like you will have to edit the family so in, say Medium detail, the model lines are hidden and symbolic lines are shown.

Published (2009-12-11 11:57:00)
Hey everyone, I thought this might be quite useful, it's a new tool that's been released by a company called Excitech, it allows us to schedule co-ordinates (x,y and z) which means we can now schedule pile cut off levels etc. It's a free download if you're interested, you can get it from here. http://www.excitech.co.uk/products/r...it_toolkit.asp

Glen You can only add "standard" hook options from your families not the stirrup/tie option from the type properties of the hook bar at this point. Have you also previously inserted the correct bar shape into your project before running the extension. This opiton here again refers to standard bar type creation as opposed to using the stirrup/tie option in the bar shape family editor....

Check for any visibility graphic overrides within the view - by element and by category. If this is the case then anything you change within object styles will be ignored. You will need to reset the override and it should appear correct. Regards
