Many thanks for your prompt, insightful reply jaberwok. Your 5000+ posts far exceed anything I could ever aspire to but if you could spare me a further 5 minutes to actually read my post properly I would appreciate it before condemning me to the not-worthy-pile... If however you can elaborate on how to combine a position field within a formula field I would be most obliged. Kind Regards Chris H

I created a dynamic block with an attribute in 2009 and put it on a toolbar for a colleague to use. When I insert the block it comes in perfectly, but when he inserts it the text size jumps from 6" to 72'? He uses 2008 and I had him open up 2009 on his machine and it inserted correctly at 6". The obvious solution is to have him use 2009, but he is stubborn and 2009 is slower (another subject altogether). Does anyone have...

Could it be the units are setup differently. 72' x 12 = 864/6 = 144/12 = 12 that looks awfully suspicious

DB-Lane x-section
Published (2009-12-15 14:10:00)
I have created a simple dynamic block of a lane and pavement structure (attached). The only thing I'm missing is a look up for the cross-slope (eg. 1%, 2%, 3%, etc.). If the lane width never changed it would be a simple stretch at set distances. Alternatively, any lane width and cross-slope could be accommodated by a rotation parameter but then the ends are not vertical. Does anybody have any suggestions?

It seems to me that all you need to do is read ALL of this thread - insert a field and set it to use the formula x/1000. But I could be...

Attribute text randomly placed
Published (2009-12-17 15:19:00)
I've just created a set of dynamic title blocks for the company I'm currently working for and a couple of its clients. I set them up with different vis states for each size (A0 - A3) with one set of common attributes. I assigned a point parameter and a move action to each one coupled to a lookup list with co-ordinates for the locations on each sheet. I did it, tested it and it worked fine, the only thing that needed doing was...

Array Dynamic Block
Published (2009-12-20 20:26:00)
Hi, I'm trying to create a dynamic block with an array function and the ability to stretch in between the spaces, in the array, confused or what? For example, I already have a symbol of a 1800mm luminaire (see attached) and I would like to be able to array the symbol and then stretch it to fit, say a corridor with the distances between evely spaced. I have attached a dwg showing luminaire symbols spaced evenly in a corridor with the...

Array Dynamic Block

Here is a quick example of how to array in two opposite directions while keeping everything centered. Please note that you will have to have two objects on top of each other to achieve this as once you array an object, you cannot use another array action on it. I have also included an offset option that will permit you to locate the center object in the center of the block or offset from the center. Now, if you ALWAYS want to have the outside...

I have have a guardrail block that I haves the end of the intermediates adjustable for length, each line is independant and then they can be arrayed. Try including the stretch paramater in the array parameter to see if this gets you what you want. john
