What version are you using? ADT 2007 and later have the Anchor property, which, when added to a Property Set attached to an
anchored object, like a Door, allows you to read in any propery value attached to the host object. If you have a property on your Wall that indicates the material of interest (perhaps as a manual, style-based property), you should be good to go.

Not as far as I know. But I believe that you can set up display reps to add/move things from first set to second. Also I believe thru overrides that you can force certain object forward or back. I know it's a not so easy work around, but you could do it if you want.

Well Personally I'd model each different house as a project. In that project create your composite model view. Next I'd create
a new project for the entire site. Drag in each composite model as an element and place them on the site individually so you can move each one around and set each specific elevation.
You could also try to create just one model for the whole thing and split it up ...
