lt 80 -wiseco piston problems

Took it to a shop to get it rebuilt. They recommended BelRay MC1 mixed 40:1. I was pretty nervous about it at first since the Suzuki manual said 20:1. I figured out the oils had come a long way in the twenty years since the manual was printed.

well tore into it today, one of the reed petals was broken, put another set of reeds into it and it fired right up...kinda strange on a 01 for the reeds to go bad isnt it?

Not certain what could be wrong. You remove three rollers and reinstall. Where's the best place to get the sprockets you recommended. I would imagine they are hard to come by for the KFX50.

NO....You need aftermarket rollers to get to the ideal weight (which you are no where near at this point). You need the roller weight of 4-5 rollers to experiment with. Example:: Rollers are 10 grams (approx) your going to 30 grams which is too little. You're needing to try diferent weights. ie: 35-40-45-50 (grams), etc. So, try 4 and 5 rollers and see what helps the most. Then ...

Yea, Im a little self intoxed at the moment So, if your read all my prior post on here, I think that will get yea where you wanna go. But I will say this, your carb is a POS,But, its more enough carb for that Kawi. No need to waste money on a bigger carb. The bigger head with the bigger valves can be had. I have one with the 90cc kit I have. A big valve 50cc(139qmb) gy6 are listed all ...

Suzuki only makes pistons to 1.0 over Yours are 1.5 and 2.0 over......A good reason to use a wiseco. Usually it's a sticking problem and not what you're expieriencing. I've not seen what is happening here. Piston to wall clearance should have been .0035 from the bore guy. I'm not a 927 fan but I doubt that did it. As you know, 927 separates in the cold. I like Torco GP-7 2 ...

I appreciate the input and you called it, she does well in the tight stuff, and mud, but gets left in the open. Unfortunately, most of the PeeWee tracks she runs are predominately open areas, with little in the way of tight terrain. The bad news here is that I don't have the stock parts to go back to. I hear you on the clutch, I don't have a lot of experience with CVT clutching, ...

Your LT80 can be made to be as fast. Seems 1/2 of the motors I do now is for adult pit bikes. z90/raptor will never go as fast with todays aftremarket (or lack of) parts.

Welcome to the forums. Is fuel getting to the plug? Does it have compression? (do a comp check we need to know the numbers) The reed is in the block behind the carb. It has the 4 phillips head screws that you are going to swear at. Try hand choking it. (use 2 fingers in front of the carb). Let's go from there.

LT80 Carb ? LT80 won't run without the choke on. I have boiled the carb and soaked it in cleaner. I can blow air through every port except the center one on the front of the air inlet (see pic). Is this one supposed to be open? Attachment: carb_049_01.jpg This has been downloaded 15 time(s).
