Processing of Kodachrome 120

wait. the emulsion of kodachrome is much thinner. could that have something to do with it?

Should all Kodachrome users switch?

Well my fathers old Kodachromes from the 50's early 60's have faded badly, it's not all it's said to be archivally, these are properly stored slides kept in the dark in dry cool conditions, around 16°/18°C. The Kodachrome II's have faired slightly better, I doubt any have been projected more than a dozen times, I'd guess far less. Is Kodachrome everything it was hyped up to be, yes and no. It was once the best...

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8300: BlackBerry9000/4.6.0.185 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102) Who can really trust these laboratory tests to tell us how long our slides will last? Who cares? They will outlive us. People will still be able to project our crappy slides of summer vacation in 100 years, but no one will know what a slide projector is. Shoot whatever film pleases you. Why worry about what people think in 227.35...

That's cool that they'll do that, but how is K64 as a Minox film? Not too grainy?

Fuji Pro Films

That's interesting Anon, thank you. I think if I'm going to the length of printing them in a colour dark room it will probably be worth the extra expense.

My hovercraft is full of eels Seriously speaking, I'd say use what pleases your eyes. It's the color palette that matters for me. I don't care if it's called kodachrome of whateverchrome. Simple isn't it? Oh and that thing about life expectancy is indifferent to probably 99,9% of slide shooters. They will outlast us by a large extent, so why should we care? Besides, after all these tests all they can say is X years...

Hi all, A recent post by Ron Andrews ( http://ronald.andrews.googlepages.com/kodachrome ) talks about the longevity of Kodachrome. He quotes a Wilhelm Research document published in 1993. Chapter 5 of William Wilhelm's "The Permanence and Care of Color Photographs" refers to the Arrhenius test, which is an accelerated aging test for a 20% loss of a film's least stable dye. The ...

I just picked 3 rolls of 1989 kodachrome 120 on ebay for $5. I'm going to use them to test a home K14 process. I'm just interested how many people have PKR 120 left/would like to have me process a few rolls for them. Of course this is only if I get the process right, and does not include guarantees on 20 year old film. I'm quite sure I will be able to get a color image; color balance and cross ...

I've already got the ok from dwaynes that they can process film I slit for my minox (9.2mm), so can they process film I slit to any standard format up to 35mm? I just committed to buy the brick of 120 on the anticipation of Kchrome from my minox for as long as Dwaynes is around. But can they process unperformed 35mm (828 film), unperformed 16mm and 17.5mm, unperforated 8mm. This is all with the ...

I've been really enjoying the latitude I have with black and white negative film, but I think to really 100% understand exposure and things like that, I really need to get some experience shooting slide film. So, my question is this: what is a good slide film to get started with (35mm), and where should I go (or mail off) to get developed? Thanks!

So the Dark Lord Sauron and the Orcs thought the battle was won
With the birth of the Super-Orcs (Canon 1Ds Mark III, 21.1MP Full Frame) some years ago, Frodo and his friends were as good as dead. How could their world, Middle Earth, survive the continued onslaught of the monsters of the Forces of Darkness, as born from the Underworld and the Land of Mordor? With despair reigning the world, ...

I have developed around 15 rolls of E-6 and this is a first time something like this has happend. Any ideas would be much ...
