 I loved sharing Thanksgiving with different families this year and enjoyed the variations on the menu and  techniques.I am curious about a couple of things, When I use romaine lettuce I use the whole leaf unless it was really tough or blemished. I am not sure what I enjoyed more, feeding so many hungry people or watching teenagers voluntarily peel potatoes, do dishes and work in a kitchen while having a great time. Mary, I typically tear the lettuce off the stem, but I think it is personal preference.  And with the dishwashers, I think the newer ones just don't need as much rinsing as original versions......so that is probably where the difference is......habits!
