I've had it with these guys... My latest experience with buying/registering/maploading a Zumo 450 has put me over the edge, and am officially dumping Garmin as a vendor who's products I will purchase. Some random complaints: Very poor out-of-box product experience (outdated maps, uncharged). Very poor web sites (buggy, use of proprietary crap like 'download manager', etc). Poorly ...

maybe a dumb question but why is a garmin 478 better than a 376c. Is it just the preloaded city detailed maps?

Just updated the firmware yesterday to version 4.5. The update process itself was successful. But: after the update, it seems that it doesnt recognize some files, such as navigation symbols (have car, black sport bike, blue arrow, etc. It recognizes only blue car and arrow), my MP3s saved on SD Card anymore. And it also doesnt recognize JPEGs either. Have tried to save the MP3s and JPEGs on the...

I inherited a Garmin GPS V that came with the stock vehicle mount and I wanted to use it to introduce a riding buddy to the world of GPS during the LA-B2V dual sport ride. I was wondering if someone had an easy way of using the stock mount to connect to a dirtbike handlebar. Or, barring that did someone kill a GPS V but still have a mount, cradle, power cable, etc laying around they would trade...

What works and what doesn't as far as GPS cards and net-book computers like the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 and Lenovo's S10, in simple terms please as I'm new to this concept of actually knowing where I'm at or where I'm going. Your a great bunch of guys, but the equipment forum has shown me ways of spending money I would have never considered before. Thanks: Mike

so I need to install a zumo with mount that I would like to quick release for 4 other bikes. Does anyone have a better solution than me just cutting off the cable near the mount and putting an SAE cable in its place and installing ram mount on all the bikes? I don't currently have the gps or mount in front of me but the power cable is hard wired to the mount for the zumo.

I tried searching "speed", "miles per hour" etc here with no hits. My 276 C is consistently 3 - 7 MPH slower than the indicated speed on my '08 1200 GS. I've checked the bike speedo and it seems to be pretty close with the MPH on other riding partners. The GPS is mounted behind my windshield on the bar behind the console. It tracks my position pretty well only occasionally getting a little...

I just bought a nice used 276c (it cam with a bunch of CD's and a 512 mem card as well) and am having issues unlocking the maps so I can download them into the unit. Where is the best place to get some nooB questions answered? Thanks in advance.
