Aerostich and Motoport pants have optional hip pads. You can get the 'Stich pads separately and maybe use them with other pants.

You know, I have to agree. Someone who supposedly works for a business getting some comments from customers/potential customers who in turn bashes those very folks. Never dawned on him I am guessing that many of us don't need nor want something that cost a lot vs something very servicable at a much lower cost. Arrogance, perhaps, but certainly not very bright.

I don't like either of those. Usually, the hardware is subpar and they are designed for a look rather than function.
Something that big will most likely bend and twist agains the frame in a crash. Just speculating there and on what I have seen on the two SVs with similar looking sliders.
Personally, I'd be more inclined to go with people who have had their products crashed on the ...

Just found this thread and thanks to Gringo for starting it. Been thinking
about a Motoport kevlar jacket & pants but been hesitant coz I need better
photos and info than their website. Thanks Gringo for the photos. How about
you other guys? Could you post close-up & full body of your jackets &
pants? Am interested in the color combos also. This thread has been great
on info. Thanks.

I wear both.
MX helmets are too noisy and windy for the street. The visor and the peak push your head around.
A street helmet is too hot for dirt riding and the shield attracts dust like a magnet.

Can't say much for snowboarding... but i do a lot of snowmobiling in the winter and every mile of it I do with a tekvest on. Not as bulky as a pressure suit, and it keeps you a little warmer. On the warmer spring days I just wear it over a jersey.
Know a few people that ride with roost guards, a handful of riders like the 661 core saver. Try a few on and see what fits you.

I have personal experience with three companies able to fit my 6' 3", 230lb frame.
Fox Creek Leather. Top quality leather jackets, pants, and yes, chaps. Jackets listed up to size 60 long, pants waist to 54", will do custom fitting.
Everyone knows Motoport will custom make you any size. I got a perfect fitting jacket first time following measuring instructions, and perfect fitting kevlar ...

That new WRR is the ticket. FI, 6 speed box, better stock suspension, low center of gravity, easy to ride, and most important FUN. Nothing wrong with a DRZ but its' decade+ old design will require $ injection to get properly sorted. The WRR is ready to go out of the box. Have you read the WR250R thread in Thumpers? Very informative.

I've never had any complaints on Warm & Safe's quality. Why don't you contact Mike Coan at Warm & Safe and talk to him about it. I'm sure you could work something out.
If you bought it from me , let me know your order date and address, I'll look the order up and send you a new liner

Which type are you using? There's a guy in the vendor's forum that's got a cool looking pair of pad ded shorts available. I don't have sore ass problems but thought about getting a pair just to try out.

EDIT: I see you also want armored so these may not suit your needs.

Cant think of any built in off hand, but there are several companies making
underwear (long & short) with hip & ass protection built in; Moose, O'neal, etc.
Some are marketed by snowboarding companies too.

I will say its pretty bombproof and waterproof. I road down a pretty overgrown road and it took several whacks by branches, also tossed it to my GF to do some underwater vids and its still working like a champ.

I have a Gerbing heated vest which I have pinned into my one piece stitch. I ride to work in it every day and it works well.
