I think a fantastic bike for you would be a Honda CB 500 or Suzuki GS 500, which are very similar.

Looks like the only 2 guys with direct knowledge say...forget the old stuff found on the computer and believe the 2 cops who "don't know the rules" and ignored the international drivers license. What the hell, take one anyway. AAA for $10-$15 and you get to look at the pic before and after the trip.

You allready got some good advise, but you may also like to check out http://ukgser.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=228 for a lot more on Scandinavia etc. BTW as said you are allowed to do wild camping in Norway. Out side of the build up areas the requirement is generally to stay at least 150 m from the nearest building and not on farmland or the like. Gravel roads in Norway. Not to many "main" roads of this type left. The...

It depends - if you're staying south of the Alps, you should be good to go by mid April/early May. The further south, the earlier (duh). If the Alps figure in to your plans, mid/late June is better. (yeah - that's high ...

Hi Andres
I have no idea about UK and NL, in Germany are quite good camping sites, stealth camping is mostly forbidden. The idea with farmers sounds good to me, never tried that Worth a try!
In Poland and check republic I was able to stealth camp, no idea if it is forbidden but no one cared about 3 bikes and 3 tents :)

You know that the Moroccan/Algerian border has been closed for decades, right? And that you need hired guides, permits, etc. to ride in other countries in North Africa (either Libya or Algeria)?
Check horizonsunlimited.com, all of your questions are addressed there many times over.

A couple of questions:
Camping or hotels?
Why no Albania?
Edit: On average, how many miles per day do you plan?
