Welcome, I am a newbie too. The possibility of me being ADD was presented to me only a month ago. Then less than a week ago the doctor confirmed his suspicion with one of the evaluations. Feel free to friend me. I would love to here your stories. This is all so new to me and I am craving some first hand knowledge of it all

Hi Amy, welcome to ADDF. I found it extremely overwhelming when I was dx'd with my ADHD (along with various other co-existing things) about 13 years ago. I went through doctors to psychiatrists to even residential care, but in the end I decided that I needed to get on top of it and so now do not get (or need) any help from the medical profession. I have never taken meds for my condition(s), just developed a way of living that manages them...

Sounds kind of familiar. I have had 3 doctors in the past run me through five antidepressants. I always said I didn't think it was depression. I felt like the meds depressed my personality. The anxiety part I believed whole heartedly. Glad the fog is lifting for you.

It sounds like you're having a really difficult time of things. Have you mentioned your problems to your doctor? There are quite a few conditions that mimic adhd, and it's important to be evaluated by a professional so that these can be ruled out. (or diagnosed and properly treated)
