Mary time for my coffee break, yeeh!  I can sit down again and chat.  That would be swell of you to do that for us on the cake idea, we can all use something fun like that for Easter!  Cooking is a really important to teach little ones around age ten, I am working on some cooking projects with my little grandy Emma.  Cakes being one of them.  We did pancakes last week and she likes making those. We have been BRRRRR weather here in New England.  Yesterday was freezing with 40+ miles an hour winds.  Temps with the wind chill factor was -20.  Today is nice in the 20's.  Tomorrow and until next Tuesday SNOW.  Not sure how much yet.   Babies are sooooo precious I have a great granddaughter who is 6 months old.  They are sooo special.  Enjoy your visit...

I don't do anything on New Years Eve, but my in-laws who were a family of 15 kids before we lost some the last few years, always have a family reunion on New Years Day. We are all much older than we were when we started this tradition and kids and grandkids and great grands come, not every single one every year, but lots of people anyway. We rent a meeting hall for the day. Very pleasant.

Bubbles........I am so very sorry to hear about your Mother's passing. She is now in a much better place. She has joined a very powerful group, in heaven. My younger sister is also there. I will pray for you and your family to find peace in the coming year, and that our Lord help you and your family to move on, with a more possitive & healthy way of life. And I will also pray that God help your Mother to feel...

I noticed an interesting fact as I read the responses. So many of us were connected to Customer Service work in various ways. Guess we are the decendants of the ancient  tale tellers here on the Porch.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS?
Published (2009-12-28 19:12:00)
I will be spending New Year's eve with children - either at home with my 14 year old grandson and my 2 canine babies or at my best friend's house. This friend has been a foster parent for as long as I have known her. She has no foster children now, but has 1 adopted daughter that is about 8. She has custody of one of her most recent foster children - a 4 year-old.  Anywhere from 3 to 6 of her other foster...
