You have lost all credibility. People are becoming more and more aware of the truth about what is in and what is not in the health care bills. Public opinion is mounting against health care. If the democratic Congress pushes through a lousy bill they will pay for it in the 2010 and 2012 elections. The truth is not your side.

Nice attempt to cover up. When doing so purposefully one uses "quotations". And, what you did hardly qualifies as satire.

Unfortunately, illegals and former illegals inhabit the lowest paying jobs. The employees only keep them working since they can currently pay them either less than a minimum wage or at most minimum wage. These employers only cover them with health insurance since they have to cover their citizen employees and would have trouble excluding the illegals. The employers that do have insurance for their illegals are stealing our tax...

Yesterday CBO released a letter responding to questions from the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee about the subsidies offered through the insurance exchanges and enrollees’ payments for that coverage under the specifications for the Chairman’s mark for proposed health care legislation that were provided by the staff of the Finance Committee on September 15, 2009. It also discusses the factors that affect a...

Charles is so right. A big bugaboo for Congress is tort reform. First of all there are way too many lawyers in Congress. Second of all, the contributions from lawyers have skewed the laws against the general public. Third of all, this has to stop. The first step after this craziness gets scrapped in the Senate is tort reform. Did you see the number? 1/2 trillion...

There are plenty of things wrong with government entities including the VA ,Medicare and Tricare to say nothing of SS and the postal service. Karl, it seems that you are just plain unhappy. I was most thankful that my g-mother had SS even though she and her husband never got to pay into it. I was very thankful, that my mother could collect a decent SS payment, and MediCare when she had primarily been a housewife...

He is so right about the libs not lifting the prohibition against buying insurance across state lines. That is the entire reason for the public health "option" (altho Nancy is now calling it the "competetive" option because "public" makes people think Gov't). And the public health option is the Trojan Horse that will lead to singlepayer.
And to everyone who thinks the free market has failed...

There's a lot of difference between one of the primary functions of government to provide national security and other uses of taxpayer's money.
You can argue that our security is not at stake or that we're going about it the wrong way,but most people recognise the need for trying to keep us safe.

What a surprise. Looks like the health care plan will not be deficit neutral after all.
No savings from the big investment in electronic record keeping, we will not let them cut medicare to pay for their bill so no savings there, even if they pass the so called Cadillac insurance tax, most will go to cheaper policies, so little income there. The drug companies have started raising prices in ...

AARP needs a change in governance.
Under the guise of helping older Americans they have sacrificed our welfare to sell insurance policies.
How could:
- cutting medicare benefits for 10 million older Americans be in our interest?
- cutting reimbursement to doctors participating in Medicare are be in our interest?
- remaining silent when cost of living increases were being denied to...

Ah, the self-interest motive of CAPITALISM at work.
Strange that conservatives would be against that...
They're doing EXACTLY what your darling Insurance Industry does - and even more strangely, to the same ends, as they themselves are part of that industry.
But good to see you're finally against it anyway...
Now crunch some numbers, and get back to me as the SINGLE PAYER ...

There is a solution to this part of the mess. Round up the illegal aliens and deport them. We have done it after every war to make sure our citizens have jobs. We did it during the depression. What do we not understand about the word illegal? Oh I forgot. I guess it is the same thing Obama and Holder do not understand about terrorists!

It’s All in the Delivery
This kind of empathetic, re-tooled thinking is part of a mantra you’ve heard in some form or another if you’ve been anywhere but under rock during these last few months of debate over health reform. What Reber is getting at is this idea that a “yes we can” America should strive ...

What a geat Day for Americans.
If this aberation of a bill should pass....let me know in a few years after the reality of it has bit you in the a$$, and kicked you to the curb, how great it is... If I should live that long to see it, it will not be pleasant.
How anyone with a modicum of common sense and logic can support a bill such as this is beyond me. Congress is ...

We still need to fire the insurance companies, profits are their only concern, why do the CEOs make millions in salaries and bonuses. Insurance was never a good thing, it was started to fleece the consumer.

The premium subsidy of Medicare Advantage plans is something Democrats never liked and have wanted to get rid of since before it started. Personally as a Republican I don't blame them. Medicare Advantage plan patients should not receive a higher payment from the government than any other Medicare patient. It seems unpopular to say this, and it looks like Democrats are willing to take heat ...

This is what the Republicans and a few Democrats (including my own Ben Nelson) want to turn all of healthcare into - a giant Medicare Part D where insurers can lie, cheat and steal to their hearts content.
Can you imagine what Medicare D would be if the CMS had two or three plans to offer to the public. Can you imagine healthcare reform without a Public Option to force ...

So now we're cherry-picking bills to combine and compare the cost?
Sounds like a VERY fun thread, THANKS !
I want to start by proposing we add the deficit costs of the following bills:
the Iraq war,
the Bush and Reagan tax cuts for the rich,
Medicare Part 'D,'
the Goldman Sachs bailouts, and
the TARP.

I have often heard that even Hospital personel don't have a clue what real costs are for their services.
If we don't have hospitals trying to cover those that don't pay.....if everyone has insurance then we should have the costs listed in a menu when we sign in.
