< "Interesting" that non-jewish people should spend so much time trying to fabricate "'data" that will undoubtedly be used by various types of anti-semetic whackjobs.> It sounds as if the person in question here is an Israeli Jew. " ... the author, Shlomo Sand, a professor at Tel Aviv University, ..." For my part, I wouldn't...

There are many such areas in East Tennessee and Kentucky that are still considered poverty areas. I'm originally from middle Tennessee where the area was still devastated from the Civil War when I was growing up...yes, almost a hundred years later...and that was the reason that I found the only future was to enlist in the miltary back in 1955 and leave. Otherwise there would probably be a future...

One more thing to say...... This is a fine example of what 'pure' capitalists will do if they own any public utility, be it water, electricity, sewerage, waste disposal, etc.. This is exactly why I have always thought that they should be owned and ran by local government. TVA is a member owned electric co-op, which supplies a large slice of...

I prefer a fully active immune system and just live with the psorsis. That is precisely why I started taking a serious look at what I needed to do to avoid drugs in my senior years. Protect that darn immune system in any way we can. However, I had trouble staying away from coffee and ended up with a pretty serious case of osteoporosis before I went to the doctor. So now I'm on Evista but...

Well, there's that, too. But I still think they should have a public hanging! ...Just kidding. Whoever didn't check that guest list doesn't belong in the SS or was it not even up to the SS but some aide in the office of protocol or whatever. If that's the case then I guess the SS better take over the job in the future.

I have IE7 and Vista Home Premium, but I use Firefox 99.9% of the time. I think this software is maintained on the whack-a-mole theory that they can knock down a problem temporarily until it morphs into a new problem and starts the misery for us in a new way.

The cost of dying
Published (2009-11-25 18:37:00)
As noted in other posts this is a very personal topic. But you have to be very careful with advance directives and DNRs. While it is important that everyone have advance directive/Living Will, it is also critical to designate the right family member or friend to have the durable power of attorney for health care. Sometimes the elderly can suffer what ends up being a relatively minor medical...

Where the hell are their Governor and Congressmen? How can they allow this to happen? I guess because they're poor they don't matter. After all, theyll be so weak from hunger they won't be able to make it to the polling booths.

It appears they did this simply for the publicity. Took pictures with their cellphone for proof maybe?
At any rate, I'm certain they will be heavily questioned and sign a document about giving details to anyone else and future prosecution possibilities.

Could you explain how you think
"the military permeates far too much of our society?"

I got that also and also got one from Michelle. Hers was more about encouraging us to take the time and effort to volunteer somewhere. I did it when I was younger but need to start doing it again.

One of my student's dad recently woke up from a six month coma. When he woke up, he found his $200,000 savings gone and his house in forclosure. His wife had no choice.

If someone says something, and then presents facts to back up their theory, and leaves you to make up your own mind as to whether the facts (remember facts ARE, you can't have a valid opinion about a fact) lead to his conclusion that's one thing.
If that same person "interprets" the facts, then you can be fairly certain they are lying.
If they "translate" to make the meaning "clearer", you...

I think it was an excellent idea to have India as the honored guest. Surely this will ease the return of jobs to Americans.
