CALLED TO SERVE
Published (2009-11-25 12:04:00)
When George W. Bush was President, he made a surprise visit to serve Thanksgiving Day dinner to soldiers deployed overseas. So it seems that an...

When are they going to drop all the investigating of this relic? It has been tested enough they should arrive at their scientific conclusions. I've heard so many conflicting things about this shroud I don't know or care if it's authentic or not. If it has been revered for a long time, it inspires people and should be left alone. Can you explain why it is so important to destroy the faith ...

I remember when the swine flu started ramping up with more reported cases and deaths here in Alaska and across the country. Father began strongly suggesting during his announcements from the altar and in the bulletin that rather than a handshake, the sign of peace be a bow instead. I was shocked and concerned at first at his request. But at Mass after Mass, week after week, and month after ...

The government and the rest of those who are endeavoring to chane this country and remove God and Christ from everything are wasting their time with me. I don't do the x..s in writing and I certainly wish everyone a Merry Christmas it is a tradition that has been around for centuries. So let be one of the first to say "Merry Christmas" ...

Zil, Thank you for his wonderful post. It is a persepctive I doubt many think about when facing the death of a loved one or thinking about their own death. Of course I had to post the hymn. I was trying to decide which version I liked better a mass choir or Mahalia Jackson's version of the hymn both are beautiful, so I'll post both and let you decide which you like best.

It's proper that if I ask the question in the topic that I also share with you what I am most thankful for. I am thankful for friendship. Friendship is very important it must exist also between family members which at time you may have familial relatiohship but no friendship. Bonds of love and friendship should be nurtured between family and those outside the family whom God has brought into...
