Police running LIcence plates..
Published (2009-12-26 04:54:00)
My friend got pulled over for Suspected DUI. They asked him to do a Breath test and he refused and said they had to take him to the station to do that*This was Ontario* Cops are actually Limited in what they do. I've had "CHECKS" on my cars and every time i have a cop get out a measuring tape or call the environment people. I always tell them to call a tow truck because your NOT allowed to do any road side repairs or checks as...

to Blocker: running a red light
Published (2009-12-27 06:38:00)
Just to add on to this post; BLOCKER does the EPS send a car out to investigate a driving complaint like the RCMP? Example being: You see a possible impaired driver, and decided to get a license plate and follow the car. In the mean time you call the EPS and report it, you add on that you are following the car. Will a EPS car come out and pull the vehicle over? Do they only do this for imparied driving complaints, or for all driving...

Challenged on what grounds? The license plate and driver's license are the property of the province...not yours. You can be checked on these at any time, and if deemed so, a safety inspection of your car can be done on the spot too to deem it roadworthy. As already noted, driving is not a RIGHT, it's a PRIVLEDGE, and as so, there are social responsibilities and requirements that you accept with doing so. Nuke This User's...

i could not read his plate beyond guessing until i was at his house, i was not close enough to him until he arrived there to read it accurately. his house was about 3 minutes away from where this occurred. his light was red for a good minute, and was about to turn green. he didn't blow through a red light because he couldn't stop, he had all the time in the world to prepare to stop for that light. there is a difference between being...

nothing, what would you do if some guy followed you home? i'm just saying, when you caught up to him at the lights or drove behind him, you could have got his plate #. I just don't understand why so many people on here try to play "cop" all the time. People drive erratically, run lights, speed. WHO THE FUCK CARES. calling in a drunk driver or something along those lines is fine, but when someone runs a light, honestly,...

Blocker, I am a bit unsure about reason 1. Maybe under the HTA, to issue a suspension, but to pursue the criminal charge don't you need reasonable grounds/articulable cause for the detention? Or does this flow from the HTA investigation? I guess the reason I ask, is the driving pattern pre-pull over seems important to a criminal impaired case. Unless you mean for a "...

Insurance could never be transfered...and must always be in place to legally drive a vehicle on a public road.
License plates may only be transfered if the vehicle they were registered to has been sold and the new vehicle is taking its place.
If you want further clarification, phone your insurance company.

I got a IMpark ticket by the old spaghetti factory almost 2 years ago, I never paid it and..... nothing ever happened. Although I make sure not to park in their lots because I did hear that if they catch you a second time you get towed.

first one, you might be able to set up a date and that person who reported you will have to show up. then you can show the judge the proof the bike was in storage in paper. the person who reported you likely wont show up because its probably more of a hassle to him.
second one, get a good lawyer and you might get off with a lesser charge

Canada and States view DUI differently.. in canada its a criminal offense, in most states Its not.
In the USA, drink-driving is not a criminal offence (felony). Having a single drink-drive conviction - as long as you did not go to jail - will not keep you out of the country. US law bans you if you are convicted of a crime "involving moral turpitude", which DUI is...

they could. if you fight it the witness who reported it would have to show up for court though. be fairly easy to get out of as its your word vs theirs.
