pretty solid all round. One thing I would suggest is dump a distructor or 2 (not really necessary) and make that power weapon on the autarch to a laser lance (6 S3 against 6 S6 A on the charge). You have the objective grabbers covered, the jetseers, the anti armour capability, the only thing I would worry about is hoard lists which could ruin your day if they can catch you. That is a big if. ...

how do you deal with large horde armies? I tried a list similar to this and found difficulty in dealing with big orc armies with lots of nobs, not nob squads but nobs in large squads of boys

your really lacking a solid counter assault unit, a solid unit of khorne berserkers in a rhino could make short work of this immobile force, assuming you dont blow up its rolling coffin, maybe swap a squad of rangers for a waveserpent for one of those guardians as a back door escape plan?

In 1500 to 1850, I run with a Farseer with Doom/Fortune and 6 Warlocks (4 with Destructor, 1 Enhance, 1 Embolden). Embolden is great for allowing you to reroll failed psychic tests, but it's not necessary. For wound removal, it's usually the Destructor Warlocks that go first, unless I don't think I'll need Enhance, then that one gets priority. I also run them all with Witchblades. I've tried...

I agree that Walkers kicks the Prisms butt, most of the time, they are also underpriced by imperial standards, except they require a heavy slot. Walkers are superior mostly in smaller points games than Prisms, since Prisms are more of a one trick pony and are best employed as 2+ models. A single Walker can screw the opponents plan very cheap in smaller point games, while Prisms do better in ...

The mechanised wing looks good, but I am concerned that your infantry section is far too weak, and a good opponent will exploit this by trying to smash through it. If you were to drop the Jetbikes, add a second Guardian Defender squad, downgrade the Spiritseer to a Warlock, and keep the Wave Serpents as cheap as possible by giving them all Shuriken Cannons, you may have enough points left over ...

The unit choices are pretty solid, but I am not sold on the heavy support section, or making frequent use of the ability of the Striking Scorpions not to deploy normally. The Avatar needs as much support as he can get, and the Rangers need close assault protection, especially early in the game from Drop Pod attacks, for example, so unless you are facing a gun line army, I would suggest ...

Quote from: daimyo52 on December 11, 2009, 05:39:56 PM Having played my first 40K Tournament ( GT Heat 3 ) and did ok with my CSM I decided that I would like to make a start on a 2nd army............ So during the 2 hour drive home I decide to put some thought into my experiences of the weekend and adapt an army to meet some of the challenges. Twin Lash / Eldar / Hordes all bring their ...

The second Wave Serpent looks like it is armed with Starcannons to me. I think it's interesting for you to note the lack of the heavy weapon on his assault Wraithlord in the context of the army lists you have been posting lately . Perhaps you will listen to a tournament winner if not to me . I don't think as a whole is that impressive, and it's noticeable that, as per usual GW waste no ...
