Cyano typically hits a newly set up tank. then it goes away with usually the same fervor it came into the tank with. My cyano is close to all gone, and I did nothing to "treat " it.

I know this is outside your budget, but wanted to point them out. I use both and find them both excellent. I use this one to keep my DT level (I do not have a sump) TUNZE Osmolator Universal 3155 - English It is awesome. And about $200 . It includes the pump. I use this one to keep my reservoir for my ATO filled. But if I had a sump, I could use this there in stead of the Tunze unit above in my DT. Level-Loc auto top off unit for RO systems -...

You'll be surprised at how quickly the roots sprout. I havent seen much leaf growth, but I think they are shy when being watched, lol.

Every tank we have has a Stealth in it. The temp is super easy to set, plus the heater is matte black with no annoying lights or anything like that. They're very durable too. We've never had a temp problem with any of ours. Plus, it makes heating up water change water in a bucket very handy when I do my 2 gallon changes in the mantis tanks because the heater only heats up where the water ...

If I understand you, you are saying that you ordered a cucumber and there was a seperate white pouch besides the bag with the cucumber in it. It was probably a heater so the water wouldn't get cold when it was shipped.

I think I may be able to help here. I recently tore down my 55g added a 90g stand in the old 55g stand's place and put everything back. It took about 3-4 hours and was a peice of cake. I first started draining the water. Then I removed all of the LR and placed it in a 30g rubbermaid container(purchased at Home Depot for $13). Once most of the water was drained it was time to wrangle some ...

Id get your rock foundation set before adding more coral. IME you will save tons o time in aquascaping in the future. you get your rock set than add more coral. dont buy coral then add rock moving all your coral.

hey Rob
in the very old days of metal frame tanks that where sealed with putty leaving them dry to long caused the putty to harden, dry out and crack and they would then leak when refilled
now days tanks can be stored dry with no special care required other than to make sure nothing sharp comes in contact with sealant as it can puncture it

A full grown lion can eat an adult dwarf angel, and anything smaller. I tried hard to get a lion in my reef, but they severely limit you on what other additions you can have in the tank. I would try to re-home him, or live with a reef with a lion centerpiece and 3-4 other medium sized fish, nothing under 5", no decorative shrimp, smaller wrasses, damsels/chromis/anthias, and the list goes on ...

Drilled Returns with a Coast to Coast Overflow I really want the 2 returns in the new 180 to be about 5-6" under my planned coast to coast overflow with those hydor rotating water deflectors. In the current plan the 1" bulkheads for the returns will be around 10-12" from the top on the back wall of the tank . . . in a power outage what's going to stop the tank from draining to ...

Sump Noise can anyone help me with sump overflow noise? I have a HOB overflow with 3/4" flextube going down into my sump. I have removed my foam filter that was designed to be used with the unit. I always get the gurgling sound from the overflow unit and it's very annoying. I currently have two seachems bags in the overflow tray and it seems to help some but not completely. ...
