Hey, it's Monday again. I felt more like naming this thread Monday Moanings or Monday Mutterrings, or even Grumble and Mumble Monday, but although I feel that way, it's not a very encouraging way to start our week, is it? The weekend wasn't too bad, and I stayed pretty much OP, although I did cheat on Saturday and had a Pumpkin Pie Blizzard from Dairy Queen for my birthday. It was delicious, and I spooned up every last little...

I'm staying OP this week by starting this thread because it's really helpful for me. Temptations is what I'm thinking about as we get closer to the holidays. I just left Costco and all sorts of new goodies are showing up. Absolutely irresistable foods kept popping into my vision as I scanned the aisles for the items I'd come in for. I've started using a new technique which came from my Yoga classes. I turn my head the...

Laurie, thank you for those links! I'm going to pick up the ingredients for the Instant Black Bean Soup and the Roasted Cauliflower soup on my way home from work tonight. They both sound delicious!

Sorry, I wasn't poking at you, I was using hyperbole...I should have said, "eat half a cow" or something to that effect, to be more clear...a whale was just the biggest animal I could think of that people eat. The all meat diet is particularly disastrous in my opinion, for what my opinion is worth after spending 6 months on SBD and losing 45 pounds.

Good morning Hey, it's only 35 here, how did that happen?! Debbie - Sounds like a lovely day. Congratulations on the ski boots. If you live where there's snow you have to make the most of it! Ruth - Wow, a relaxing week ahead - is it possible?! Hope your warm temps make it down here today. Cottage - Someone should have made you a big dinner last night! Glad you had a nice day with the family and a lovely birthday celebration. Sophie...

Well weigh in was today and I maintained once again. No more bread for me. THat has to be what it is. I really hate not seeing the scale move..its almost depressing. My week looks like it does every week sadly...I'm going to a job I despise and dealing with a person I can't stand. I probably won't get my walk in today because I know that person had a fit that I wasn't there on Friday, even if it was a conference approved...

Please post your November goals and I'll gather them into a sticky when I have enough. Let's be reasonable, OK? It's better to surpass the goal than to fall short.
Once again I will try for a loss - four pounds for the month.
Please post as number of pounds rather than to reach a specific weight. This means I can just quickly add everything up and get a total goal...

Nice to see you back, O Goddess of the Hunt!
You can thicken soups very nicely using beans! Just add then and zap with the blender or an immersion blender. Chili is great for lunch in winter as is taco bake. I make individual servings and freeze them. You can make egg or ham salad and have it on celery sticks, peppers or cucumber slices. I often have leftovers from ...

WOW! I'm very jealous (and feeling a little guilty)! You're all reading so much!!!
I finished reading Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain and passed it on to my sister since that was my third time reading it. She's read half of it and loves it. For some reason, I find his narrating style very similar to Murakami's, so I knew that she'd like it.
I'm re-reading another favorite ...

Hi Tarra and
I lost a bit of weight on my own and have been OP with SBD for 6 months now. For me SBD has worked great! I'm off BP meds, feel spectacular and lose weight consistantly. My blood sugar is stable.
You asked about hunger. As long as I eat what I'm supposed to I don't have those gut gnawing cravings that make me want to eat...and eat...and eat. If I'm ...

Here's to Monday.
Once again, the weekend flew by way too fast! It did clear up yesterday afternoon long enough for us to get all the leaves out of the front yard and spread over the raised garden beds. Jake is going to pick up some top soil today to spread over them so they stay in place. Now we have to start working on the leaves in the back yard.
I'll be ...

Good morning, KO, and thanks for the espresso! A giggle is a good way to start the day.
It's darned cold in this house this morning because a dumb two-legged creature did not close the door out to the deck properly. The furnace and my velour robe sure feel good on the outside and the coffee is warming me up internally. I wonder if they have electric robes - battery ...

Ruth, we're only 1 degree warmer than you at 28* this morning. We're all getting bundled up to go out for breakfast. I wish you well on your sale today and hope you make lots of money for the church roof!

Morning. Still pre coffee so excuse any jibberish.
Thin and thankful, I like it!
I was off work sick yesterday, I had some bad period pain which turned into migraney kind of symptoms, as it often does with me. My legs cramped up and I couldn't get out of bed. Agony. I was in bed yesterday till 3.30, then went back at 8.30 and slept right through till this morning. I'm ...

Tonight sounds like fun, Silly. I hope you get out of your meeting early so you can get a jump start on the weekend.
Strange happenings around here. I have a very old pendulum mantle clock that hasn't worked for years - since 1985, at least. Yesterday Donna dusted it and it has begun to run again. It's bonging out the hours and the dogs are not pleased. I guess it ...
