Diet Coaches/Buddies - A normal eating day, perhaps even better since, due to schedule crunch, I didn't have time for my afternoon snack and got home too late to bother with my evening snack; CREDIT moi. Feels particularly good since I'm still smarting a bit about falling into the bowl of cocoa covered almonds on Sunday. The gym (CREDIT moi) after work was crowded. I wasn't expecting that until after New Years. A guy kindly let...

Weighing at night..
Published (2009-12-28 13:41:00)
I sometimes do. I almost always weigh more than I did in the morning, and I always lose 1-2 pounds overnight. If at night I weigh the same or close to what I did in the morning, I know I'll be low in the morning. I don't record it, it's just curiosity. On the one hand, I think it's a good idea, for a little while, to weigh at different times just to learn how it varies. Keeps you from freaking out. On the other hand,...

Haaving a regular IE day today. Maybe I'm ready for that. We have company coming for the week and they'll arrive tomorrow evening. I can't do low carb with them here because I can't afford to buy the foods for me and them too so I'm just going plain IE. I got up and had oatmeal with yogurt and blueberries with flaxseed and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've really missed my oatmeal. Then we went shopping and came...

Officially started calorie counting while using my GWF yesterday. Yesterday I had a 2582 calorie deficit, and today I have a 1547 calorie deficit so far (still due to walk on my elliptical in a bit, just had a late dinner, late work day). I ordered the display, and it should arrive tomorrow. I want to keep my daily calorie deficit more like 1000 (don't want to slow my metabolism by restricting too much)...I know I will feel better eating...

Hello ladies. I'm considering getting a GWF and I have a few questions, if I may bother you. Do the numbers work? I mean, I know it gives you numbers, but if you're short 1,000 calories a day for a week does that come up as a 2 pound loss for the week? Do you lose consistent with the numbers on your tracker? Does it make you obsessive? I don't mean to be silly, but do you find yourself playing games with it, doing endless...

Eating is better today. A few tortilla chips as a snack but the rest of the day has been low in calories and pretty much OP. Dinner is definitely OP, I made buffalo chili-spaghetti. I made buffalo chili and then stirred in some cooked whole wheat angel hair pasta. Usually it would be elbow macaroni for chili mac so we made the healthy switch. It taste really good and should be filling. Nurse Dee praying that your numbers will come back down...

Well sitting here trying to figure out what to cook for dinner. We have prime rib left I need to use and I was thinking of making stir fry out of some of it. I would cut all the fat off and just use the meat. Also want to make a vegetable soup this week. We're supposed to get snow tomorrow so went out and mailed letters and stuff. I hope it melts off as soon as the last one did. Crystle- Your dinner sounds so yummy. I wish I had a big...

Good morning! I had a quiet evening, and I think I will go get my hair cut this morning. In a minute, I am going to wander down and make some coffee.

Diet Coaches/Buddies - A working lunch with food brought in was good and bad. I had a big salad with minimal Italian dressing and half a turkey wrap after discarding the wrap and cheese; CREDIT moi. Not so good was encountering a bowl of chips - not the usual bags of chips that I readily ignore - that were home fried to be thick and crusty. So, I had a small handful on top...

A lot of it is about money. By rehashing the same old material and proclaiming it new, they manage to sell stuff.
But also, different people at different times find that structure really helps. And what is a good fit for one only spells trouble for another.
I think lately the difference have finally started to be more helpful - addressing differences in how people do ...

Tea alone is fine as long as you keep the sugar to a minimum. Soda has way more sugar in it, not to mention phosphoric acid and sometimes preservatives.

It took me 7 months to lose 100 pounds, but keep in mind I have a lot to lose! I don't work out every day. I walk a lot though. I don't cheat, but I do work in treats occasionally that don't send me over my calorie target. You can do it. It's all about commitment, not letting anything get in your way, and never making excuses for your behavior. If I go off plan, I own it ...

The only things I get at fast food places are the chargrilled chicken sandwich from Chik-fil-a (300 calories), vanilla ice cream cones from McDonalds (150 calories) and diet Cokes.

A Common Question
Someone recently asked me what she should do when she finds herself eating past the point of fullness into the place of being uncomfortably stuffed. This is a question that comes up frequently, so I thought I'd put my fingers to the keyboard and share the advice I tend to offer on this topic.

I can't imagine how hard that is for you! I actually watched a TV show about adult picky eaters and it was very interesting - there are theories that it is related to OCD and some scientists who think there could be a genetic reason for it. I went to WW meetings at night when I lived in Ohio - and ate my dinner before I went. As long as you weigh at the same time every week, it doesn't matter. But weighing at night and then next weighing in the morning doesn't work.

I am getting one for Christmas but I was under the assumption you have to subscribe to the service. I could be wrong though.
