As long as it is a 3G phone it should be ok to use on 3. Although if you want to use their free services like skype you may have problems. I am not familier with BB's and other members may be able to offer help and advice on using a BB on 3, as to what you need and what funtions / options you need to use a BB to its full extent..

Welcome to the forum. The 8900 is a 2G (GSM only phone), so you can't use it on the 3 UK network, as most of 3's sims will not work in a GSM only phone. If you do have a 3 sim that works in the phone, 3 will sooner or later send you a text telling you to put the sim back in a 3G enabled phone or face disconnection. If you are on a contract and 3 do disconnect you you would be liable to...

Welcome to the forum. The only way if possible to get the phone un-barred would be to contact the network that barred it in the first place. You would also have to prove the phone belongs to you. The other problem you have is, as the phone was replaced by a insurance company, the phone now belongs to them. You should contact them to say its now been found and what do they want you to do...

Hi, Yeah it was O2 customer services that said 4gb... with the 'Unlimited web bolt on' thing. What I might do is jump from 3 to O2 then and do a little modem use (it's only to my PDA not a lappy - have a 3G dongle for that) and do a little VoIP... and hopefully I should be OK. O2's terms and conditions are really stupid, you'd think they'd have followed the same pattern as everyone ...

OK. I've moved this to the Beginners Questions which is fairly general. What you need to do is get a Roaming SIM such as SimForTravel. There are a few on the market but get one who uses either Jersey or Manx Telecom

interesting that they have a 21Mb network, but realistically you would only get 3-4Mb.

The term box breaker pertains to the mobile phone industry, where these are companies or individuals that exploit the networks use of subsidies on handsets to create their own profitable business.
