using phone as a modem
Published (2009-01-04 19:43:00)
I found out what the problem was. I had set the modem setting on the phone to connect via Bluetooth. I have changed it back to via USB and it working fine now.

as the 3 indians like to tell me (indian accent) "take out the battery and simcard, wipe the sim with a dry cloth and rrrrrreboot the handset" could be worth a try lol

Just got the INQ phone - Page 3...

Just another update on the INQ1 handset. I bought my INQ1 on pay as you go as a stopgap to see if any cool smartphones come out in 2009. What I didn't know was that the email on 3 option is just for a trial period and that has expired for me so I no longer get any push mail to my phone. Just one to be aware of if you go for the PAYG option.

Belfast - thanks for that. Another big failing averted... Actually, Three online chat support were not able to help me with that one, suggesting I just had to put up with it - but I couldn;t believe that was the case. So thanks again.

I don't know what brand an S2 is, but I can do that with my Nokia N95 using either USB cable or bluetooth, so it depends on your phone's specs and capabilities. I am using the Toshiba Bluetooth stack on my laptop, and the way I did it was to create a new connection through the bluetooth stack options for internet access via bluetooth - the phone did the rest. Perhaps you can try it this way!

I have a Nokia N95 8gb and have been with 3 for nearly a year. I have been using the Opera mini browser on and off over the last few years but unfortunately the age old problem of getting a stable connection is still a major problem. My Opera mini install quite frequently has problems getting a connection to the network which puts me off using it even though its a better browser. When it does ...

I have the S2 and have been using the phone as a wireless dongle for my laptop with no problems. I was wondering if you can do this by connecting the phone to laptop via Bluetooth, or does it only work by USB connection?

Created a new thread as the thread below, the OP went for a different phone in the end. Anyway, the wife's phone has arrived today, and on initial look, I think it looks a great little phone. A few negative points though which we knew of but not sure it will annoy in the long run: No flash. Now to be honest, the mrs doesn't really take many photo's anymore, but its a nice to have ...

I'm trying to use last.fm on my new INQ1 to scrobble my music but whenever i try to log-in it takes a little bit then gives me the following message: "Please set the time and date on your mobile". I've got the correct time and date on my phone and i've no idea what to do.

It'stime to upgrade, and I was thinking of taking the INQ which has unlimited texts and Internet all for £15. Is it a good phone? Do Ihave to have Facebook alerts on or can I just choose to log into normal facebook? Not sure as havent read many reviews of the phone itself. Does it act like an mp3 player aswell, and what memory cards does it take?

GPS Navigation - 1 new post

We have a N95 8Gb and a N96 both of which have the navigation facility. Unfortunately the manual is not very clear on how to use it to plan a route. (No voice guidance) In addition, when we have tried it, the first thing it wants to do is locate an Internet connection whereas we thought it would get a signal from the satellite to do the navigation. Neither of us really want to consider an...
