Re: Low Front O2 Voltage ok. If I'm feeling up to it, I'll try it out this weekend. edit: While I'm posting, I may as well point out that my knock sensor has a giant goo blob on top of it, and oozing over the sides. That means it's bad, correct? I know that it does on Toyotas and DSMs, I'd assume the same for our cars. __________________

Great maps there lawdogg!! I've seen them before but never paid too close attention to them. Knock makes a whole lot more sense to this scenario. Get the obvious fixed first then try to resolve this. Change out the O2 sensor. Jeff

Unhook the w/m for now, take the solenoid line off and clean/replace it. If it works fine when dry, then yes, the w/m injection mist may be screwing up the solenoid. Hope you have an inline filter on it.

I've had the same problem multiple times now, with multiple cars, and it's always been an intake leak; every single time.
By chance, did you take off the plenum or throttle body recently?
How does the car run with the MAF connected? Does it start up and die immediately or idle very sloppy, do you get backfiring with the MAF connected?

^^ I was not in the mood to troubleshoot any further last night, I know there's a leak and that I can take care of it. Just wondering about damage I may have caused with the air. ^^

Many things can cause idle issues...check the repair manual under FUEL section for a troubleshooting list. Outside of what you mentioned IAC is common but so is ECU...you will glean that from a post search.
Your low cold idle could indicate a bad FIAV. Whenever the idle bogs down that low you will get the battery light.

if you are on stock injectors then yes it is normal to hit fuel cut
somewhere north of 15 PSI. You need bigger injectors and a tune to avoid
this.

have you had the plenum off recently?
i once made a DUMB mistake while doing the plugs on my na at 2am... i dropped a washer down the lower intake and when i looked with a flashlight i didn't see anything. felt around with a magnet and didn't get anything. so i thought it must have fallen outside the motor. long story short my car sounded exactly like that when i fired it up. the washer was ...

sounds like you could have a clogged oil return line possibly. or the turbo oil seals that u have rebuilt them with are cheap knock off seals. i have the same oil pressure with no problems. altho im tdo5 that shouldnt make any difference. how much boost are you running? and by ur turbo self destructing what exactly do u mean? persicely what happend to the turbo? also by pukeing oil do u mean its...

O2 voltage will fluctuate based on the air/ fuel mixture. The stock O2 is a narrowband, 0-1v. Their performance is pretty weak, and it can only tell you stoich or rich/lean for the most part. Widebands are 0-5v and much more precise.
The sensor changing voltage range like that is because you were getting on it, and the fuel mixture changed.
The rear o2 is after the cat, and used for ...

Did you just doubt your 30 year mechanic father's opinion, and instead ask the internet? He was doing this before the internet was born! That's a dick move man.
Anyway, he's spot on. If you have a machine shop to hot tank/clean everything, turn the crank, bore the block, and mill the heads it can be done fairly inexpensively. Do some priceshopping. PMP, IPS, 3SX, Cherry Hill, DR.......

Oil on the transfer case could also be the rear main seal on the engine. Mine was. For the last two years, I've wiped down the T/C and the next time I went under, there were a few drops again. Finally, this fall I found out that the T/C is fine, the engine is leaking.
To check that, you have to pull the T/C which is not that difficult if you can get the downpipe and cat off. Tie up the ...

This will be a good poll. I'm gonna go with "Voters Choice" as DR 800-1000 kits would fall under that.

You most likely fried the battery. Take it back to where you got it and
have tested.

The metal is fairly thin but it could probably be welded. New ones are cheap too + you gain peace of mind.
