I see students who don't listen to me and try to jump ahead get this all the time. They drop the Multiclip into the Timeline, and edit right away. Problem, I'm betting is, you have to open the Timeline copy back into the Viewer. Drop it into the Timeline leaves the Browser copy in the Viewer, you now have two copies of that Multiclip. Browser copy, still opened in the Viewer, and Timeline ...

I've had the same thing happen to my smoothed shots. usually, if i match frame(f), there will be a big movement or vibration in the original footage that caused it. (for the most part i am smoothing aerial shots.)

I'm using the a helmetcam (VIO's POV.1) and the files that I transfer to my harddrive from the SD cards are quicktime files. When I put them into a Final Cut Pro sequence I have to render them before I can see them in the timeline. This takes a lot of time and harddrive space. I've been posting a project shot on the Nikon D90 d-movie. In an earlier post I said I was impressed with the quality (very low light night scenes.) I now eat my own words, in normal light, the quality is terrible. The footage is some weird AVI file that is 1/4 the size of a DVCPRO-HD file. Its compressed like hell, the flesh tones smear, and even my old notoriously soft Canon XL1 is ...

I'm working with some photos (jpeg and tiff) in fcp and when i dissolve it looks like at the first frame of the dissolve they shift or jump a frame over and it looks bad. I've seen this before too. I imagine it's something pretty obvious to fix it, right? Eric
