2 speed grinder question

That's the way to go, Jim.. Set up the wolverine on the white wheel and you can use the coarser dark wheel for general grinding.. p.s. be sure to get a diamond faced cleaner tool to keep that white wheel clean.. Muy easy and not expensive..

I also got a combo pinter/scanner/copier from my son and got me a new Dodge pickup this year. My old truck was 16 years old and time for a new one. I love it, even though it is a Dodge. I however have been eyeing one of them Fein MultiMaster saws for my after Christmas gift to myself.

Houston hardwoods knocked it out for me. Man, those guys have some equipment. Looks like I may have enough left over for a Mesquite Redfish. Just what I need, another hobbie.

I will be doing a woodturning program on turning crotches this Thursday evening (January 8th). This is a part of the tree limbs that I used to always baffle me. I don't have all of the answers, but I have turned a few, and will be sharing what I know and will turn a natural edge bowl from a crotch. This is a part of a monthly meeting of woodturners, woodworkers, and carvers. We have a "...

Here is a view of my new vacuum pump. I had to make a few modifications like adding a filter and a quick disconnect. Plugged in my old vacuum chuck system to the new pump and I had more holding power than "Denta-Grip". With all the additions still less than $100. Works on 110volts. Pump comes with refrigeration fittings which fits nothing you can buy in the plumming dept at Home Depot. I ...

Very good stuff. The only thing I would add is to use a tack cloth before and after you put the stain on. Sawdust has a way of caking up around the edges.

Ok, besides wood, what did you get or get yourself for xmas? I did happen across a neighbor cutting down some crepe myrtle so I got some wood too. I got a couple badly needed cordless drills and a router/ Router table. Router table is just like this one ( http://www.jessem.com/main_page.htm ) but blue and I got the variable speed 3.5hp milwakee router to go with it. I never thought a router table ...

I recently bought a Wolverine sharpening setup for my tools and was wondering;;; Those of you that use them, do you have a grinder dedicated to only tool sharpening? I've been looking at the 2spd Delta (1725/3450 rpm) bench grinder for universal use, but if it's a better idea to go dedicated, then I could probably save a little money and just buy a lo-speed and get a separate hi-speed for general...

Ok I am looking for some free workers. I have 2 hackaberry trees down and a few limbs hanging that needs to be cut. Would any of you woodworkers want some fresh and there even might be some spalted hackaberry. I need to nail down a date we can all get down and do some cutting before they haul it off to be throwed in a dump. I can do much cutting since my chainsaw won't run good after being ...

I did a search and didn't find anything about building a fold down or collapseable work bench. I'm looking for something to clean and rebuild fishing reels and it needs to be a fold down type because I don't have a lot of spare room in my garage. I was wondering if any of you guys had any plans or know where to find some plans on the web that can help me out with this little project. ...

Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Neighbor 4 doors down was taking her pecan tree down yesterday. Luckily, I caught them before they had started on the trunk. The tree was probably 20+ years old and had been grafted . There is a definate bark/grain change where the graft was and it looks like it will be a real 'one of a kind' chunk of wood. I've seen pictures before but ...

I know all I ever make are duck calls so that's all I ever have to post up for show and tell, sorry. This one was a bit tricky to turn but I like the way it came out. Some of the driest and thirstiest wood I have ever turned. 9 dips in Poly and it's still a bit thin. Hard as a rock now, and it sinks in the can, but it still has a thin outside coating. Weird wood. Seems like each dip just ...

I am replacing a shelf on a bbq pit, "2x10x6" with a piece of rough cut cedar about the same size. My question is, what would be the best finish to apply to the wood that would withstand the elements. The pit is stored outside and thats why the shelf needs replaced. I already have the cedar which came from a friends sawmill. Its really georgous.
