They are the easiest duck on the planet to shoot... they glide in SOOOOOO slow... Its easy to shoot 3 out of the group by yourself.... its gonna be a pass shot, but its an easy one.... Watch their legs after you drop them... they wont stay red long... they turn white upon conservation.... haha

Yeah, it's sad... Before it was cut up the Columbia Bottomland was a forest that was 40-miles wide and 60-miles deep. It encompassed the lands and waterways around and between the Colorado, San Bernard and Brazos Rivers. Today only a quarter is left in parts of Brazoria, Matagorda, Wharton and Fort Bend Counties. The Brazos and San Bernard are not very far apart in a lot of places. The Brazos overflows into Oyster Creek in a flood, then...

How much do you want to spend. I bought recently a Nikon ProStaff 3x9x40 with a BDC reticle for $169. Good scope, I dropped the gun and it did not moved zero.

If want to see fog free, clear image and presumably at twilight then you need to step up. Quit playing around with junk, toy optics and spend a little more money for quality optics. For $100 more you can buy a good Leupold VXII (my choice), or a Nikon, or an upper end Bushnell. A good scope will last you a lifetime. How many times will replace slightly less expensive junk? How much do ...

All going to be weather related. We tried to duck hunt Sunday moring, would have been better off taking the boat out on East Bay with no wind and bright skies. Just see what the wind and clouds are going to be this long weekend and hope to make the best choice. Next COLD FRONT will bring many birds to us. I hope!

The legs on my feeder aren't at a steep enough angle to keep the coons from climbing up to the spinner and emptying the hopper, so I improvised by putting 3" PVC pipe, 5' long, around the legs. Works like a charm !! Too big around for their grubby lil hands/paws to get a grip on to climb up.

just purchased a set of marine Steiners as my beater glasses (used when im sitting on ground hunting in the nasty weather or in tripod as i didnt want to take a chance on breaking the Swarovski glasses) and i like them alot soo far. The clarity is there and they are quick to focus. would highly recommend them and the price was right!

I did it earlier this year too.. dont feel bad.. sometimes buck fever gets the best of us.. As long as you are eating, and preserving memory.. nothing is lost. I am just glad I still get excited to hunt, and every deer I kill is a trophy... whether it is a doe or buck.. ground shrinkage happen.. It is good as we grow older, not that I am that old but have been deer hunting 20 years, ...
