Those white bass are on their way to getting high up streams and up the Trinity if they are there already at that place on the river. I'm looking for a good fishing run this year. When I catfished South of there we caught a couple of stripers and I thought I saw some white bass break. Thanks for the tip. SS

I mainly fish the Trinity watershed, but if I was closer to the Sabine I would definitely fish it. I made a couple trips there (River Ridge campground) and fished basically blind with no guide. I had located one creek upstream of the camp, using a map, and found out about a down stream creek from another fisherman. Great numbers of fish there, and the average size is huge!

Main river about where Carolina Creek intersects (Cove Marina Area). Lots of fish marked about even with the pipeline. Good Luck, SE

All you need is ten pounds of taters and you can feed at least five with that! Cudos!

Lake Livingston State Park in the spring. Used to fish there as a kid with the old man. Pretty good spot.

Want to take the grandson out crappie fishing today or tomorrow. I live in Lufkin and want to keep it close. Rayburn is about 7' low and have not heard any reports. Have never fished Livingston but it is pretty close. Just looking for a place for my 6 year old grandson can try out that new rod and reel he got for Christmas. Thanks in advance.

My brother in law lives in Colorado and loves to ice fish (I think hes nuts!!). He has a little portable shelter he uses and loves it. Its apparenly made just for ice fishing. I just never though the idea of sitting on a block of ice to catch a fish was that appealing!

My son and I tried some river fishing Saturday and the water was green and clear, normal level, and just a nice day. We used beetle body jigs , 1/8 white and yellow bodies tandem, dragging the bottom as the current toke them and slow retrieve. We started about 2pm and quit about 5,we caught about 15 of which half were keepers and the only picture was this guy.

caught 7 bass and 1 nice crappie. got out there around 4 and left at dark. started out chuckin' a greenish blue baby 1- which wasnt getting it done. switched to a 1/4 oz blue streak rat-l-trap with the holographic scales. pretty lure lol. anyways, that was the ticket, steady bite for the next hour and a half. nothing over 2 lbs. all fish looked like these. fun day from the bank. :

Midget and I did some trolling pet spoons North of the bridge on Conroe. We saw a school on the sounder and this one hit Midget's pole, her first hybrid. There were two patches so its no white. It was 18" and only one so we let her go to grow some more. Anyone else have any luck? Maybe its to early.

I am planning a trip to fairfield next saturday and have heard they dredged the north ramp. Has anyone launched since they have done the dredging? Has it made getting in and out any easier can I still drive on the trailer or will I have to winch the boat back on? Thanks for you help guys.

I just received a call from Bruce Williamson at Lake Somerville Marina....What a way to start the new year.......A customer brought in a 13.75. pound black bass, caught near the dam....It was weighed, photograped , and released....They never thought about the share a lunker program, so it is still swimming in the lake.......Crappie fishing has been good in the deeper water over brushpiles........
