Minn Kota RT70 Problem
Published (2009-11-29 20:16:00)
I had a problem like this with my old one. Mine was a simple fix. The selector rod has a trend of popping outa the plastic selector switch. I set my TM out like if I would be using it while on the trailer. Removed the 6 screws from the bottom of head and remove the top cover. The black handle will have a rod that comes from the center that connects to the electronic selector. There is a horseshoe metal plate in there that goes a certain way....

Thanks for the input guys! It's pretty much what I expected. Storage is certainly an issue especially when my fishin buddies have to bring 1/2 of Academy with them everytime we go. The biggest thing for me is that I'll heve the confidence to go exp[lore new water without having to worry about getting stuck. Thanks again!

PTH- You are right I did get little off topic. Guess I was in a BS mood yesterday. Too much family around I guess. I wish Pat the best on his boat and its ability to go and do.

I know I have a very long way to go but completing the heavy glasswork forward of the main bulkhead (galley, head and bunk) is a milestone for me. Obviously, more sanding, paint, electrical etc. will happen but I just couldn't pass up the "before and after" pics after leaving the boat this weekend. Please excuse my ..... grinning -ear to ear. *in this pic, the cabinets are just temporarily hanging but they are actually...

Contact Jimmy Clapp from A&M boat service. He is the warrranty repair person for MK in the Houston area. I had an issue with my MK after using it once. Sent him an email with a pic of the broken piece and my information. He immediately ordered me the replacement part and sent me an email when it came in. He met me at my office to pick it up and had it back to me in 2 hours fixed. Contact ...

Patrick, I ran a 24 Pescador for 6 years and loved it. Its one of the sturdiest boats I've ever been on. It's not a fast boat and if you try to make it go fast you'll get a thrill when the back end gets loose. But at up to 36 mph it's very comfortable and stable. I had clients brag on the ride just about every trip. And when I finally did get ready to sell it, I had the phone rining off the ...

I have had mine in some pretty rough stuff. Be prepared to get a little wet if it's really rough and stay close to shorelines and you shouldn’t have any problems. I have been more than satisfied with the little boat.

You didn’t mention what the batteries would be used for such as cranking the engine or deep cycle for a trolling motor. Most marine batteries are rated as dual purpose. You should consider the CCA, Reserve Capacity ratings and how much do you want to spend for these batteries. My recommendations are Interstate Batteries. http://www.go2marine.com/docs/mfr/interstate/Inter state_...
